Which do you perfer?

Rough woodies or smooth??

I voted rough because for some reason I look at woodies as being rough, full of air time , and fun, So personally I like em ROUGH![lol]

if we are going to talk about the wooden coastertypse rough is always great. It adds tons of fun when you are tossed around the coaster then when you are flying smoothly over hills and turns with only some lats and air.
But if this is about wood & steel i would say smooth for steel. Steel really needs a smooth track to be fun. A little rough is ok. But don't let it be too rough.

It all depends. There is no-maintaince painful shuffly potholey rough, and intense rough. The second is good, the first isn't. Roughness is not a requirement for a good ride. Just look at Viper at Great America, that's the smoothest woodie in the country period, and rides smoother than many steel coasters, yet still delivers and intense thrilling ride.
