Why is PHPBB...

So popular? IMO, Its very unprofessional. I made this topic casue I noticed that alot of Coaster Sites have PHPBB based forums, and they dont skin them, so they look very generic...o great...im talkin about twp topics in one

It has the most mods. Simply that puts it ahead imo. I don't know if you've seen the new XC forum yet, but it kicks serious arse on phpbb. But I can't give you any more info.

i seen it...but i dont know y people dont customize it when they install it. They usually keep the default skin on it. FOr me though...im a CGI-Bin forumer...imo...easier to install/skin

Because, get this; its free and easy to use!

there are alot of free forum softwares out there that have features that blow phpbb out of the water

I like it to but asp doesnt seem to show up much on webspace.

I like phpbb. But people should change skin, or make one on their own. That way it looks bether. But I realy like phpbb bether than invision.

phpBB has more MODs than most forums... plus i find PHP easer than ASP... and with more people starting to use linux its makeing it harder to use asp...

The only real thing that makes Rollercoaster Sites look unprofessional is when they dont skin the forum, and place a little logo at the top and call the place unique

You also have to remember not everyone has the skills and knowledge to do the things you have listed.
