Hello! [hello]

I've read this on the main page:
Ratings which are rated significantly too high will be deleted by staff in the future. Explanation is the key to a good rating.

I think, and I always thought that it was a MAJOR mystake. You want people to rate, and when they do, you would delete? Why? If someone believe a track is wonderfull, what more can he says than "wonderfull"? Not all the tracks get perfect tens!

Rates rates rates... [dunno]

Anyway, I don't really mind, I just wanted to tell you my thoughts on this subject, but I keep on smiling [approve]

I'll have to agree on this on.I think if a person likes a track alot & rates it high, just because other people don't think its good, should it be removed because others don't like it?

I think the problem on overratings is that people don't explain it very well. I know good coasters don't need much explaining, but perhaps tell what you like dmost of the ride would be better than "great, good work! can't wait to see your next one!" know what I mean? We have not been deleting any 10-10-10 ratings just because they're 10-10-10, take a look at your tracks for proof, we're just trying to make the point that explaining the ratings is better than few words. I also believe that GFA misworded the post on the frontpage. I'll let him know what's up.

We are talking about perfect 10's None of these coasters are perfect. Period. the 10 should never be used.

Anyway, it's the explanation ppl want. The number is there for the weekly contest, and to give a general idea. But if someone thinks it's 10 10 10 and someone else thinks it's .5 .5 .5, there is something wrong with that. Where the 10-10-10 said "this ride is great!!! and the .5-.5-.5 write a novel (exaggerating) which rating do you think will hold it's ground on a complaint? The point here is not to go delete happy, piff, we have enough work as is around here and we don't want to get a heavier work load. What we want is fair ratings for everyone, whereas if a track get 2 straight 10's ratings and another gets say 40 ratings, yes several straifht 10's and several not straight 10's it'll cause the 40 rating track be lower rated than the 2 rating rated track thus losing unfairly for weekly awards, likewise mentioned above, and we WANT to fix that, not want to go delete happy.

[sillyme] I definitly love your signature pic weewee :)

I understand and agree your explanations.
It makes me think about another point. Do we consider NL as a simulator, or a game. Difficult, I think it's both.
Recently on Orbital for example, we had a 5.75 in technic in a rate. I say, if we consider NL as a simulator, that's a generous rate (and we shall never see a ten)! But if it's considered as a game, then it's a quite severe rating (end 10 should be very usual! [sillyme]

I think of NL as a game not a real life coaster building machine/simulator. Lacks many things imo for it to be a simulator. [:)]

well a problem w/ perfect ten's is a problem too but also whenever you have someone that does not agree w/ a rating by another person so they say I am going to rate this higher then normal b/c I feel that it was underrated. This problem tends to happen quite a bit and I have no issue w/ the staff fixing it. In the last two weeks or so I have seen that there are so many over ratings (hence w/ no explanation but uhhh I like this ride alot and I uhhh think its work a 10-10-10) well if you truely feel the ride is worth that then all tell why w/ a seperate rating of Tech:, Adren:, and Orig:, that way we understand why you feel this way.
