They look pretty out of place. They are really thin yellow supports that go about 20 ft. up the spikes.
I didn't even notice them when riding,though.

Even though wicked Twister had less unsupported track then other impulses, the twists swayed too much.Last year it seemed like they were welding the track every other night. The tracks cracked alot and stuff like that. That's why last year they had the ride going at half power.Even with those small new supports added, the ride dosn't sway as much.

Even tho they added those extra supports, they still don't run WT at 'full power'. It still dosen't reach the top like it did a year ago.

What about last summer? Were they running it at full power then?

Just to let you guys know, when Wicked Twister is at full power it does't reach the very to like other impulses. At top speed Wicked Twister still stalls about 8 to 10 feets from the top in the front spike & about 6 to 8 feet in the back.Dont forget that each fun is at different speed.

it seemed to me like it was wobbling several feet from side to side when i rode it. i like how intamin does there supports (heavy supports at the bottom and then none at the top) but sometimes i wonder how safe they are...

They must be safe, Xcelerator has a strong support structure and they use the same style as on WT(Thick on the bottom and then none at the top)

Since America is sue-happy these days, they're probably reassuring the rides nothing could happen. Like all of the McDonald's folk who sue for hot coffee, someone might sue for choking on WT because "it wasn't supported enough."

Speaking of McDonald's, I quote them:

Hey, it could happen!

The great thing about the Intamin track styles is its durability. The four sided tracks can support up to 100 ft of track without a support between in. This allowes for impules to look so unstable and yet remain stable. They probably added the extra supports because of the wind speeds around Lake Erie.

That sounds like it makes sense. 100 ft without needing support?!? That's crazy!
