The progress on the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Japan is more than palpable, it's frankly just fast! A recent construction video (embedded below) shows off the status of the mega-expansion, and the thematic elements are slowly coming out from behind scaffolding to show themselves off.
Above is a shot of the Hogwarts Castle, which has scaffolding down from most of it now. Just like in Orlando the level of detail is thick, and they still have more work to do. The facade will be the entrance to the Forbidden Journey ride, also just like in Orlando.
While it was speculated that the Japanese version of Wizarding World would contain Flight of the Hippogriff, this shot from the movie confirms that! The ride looks the same as the Orlando version, one of the somewhat larger Vekoma family rides.
The village of Hogsmeade is the section in Japan that needs the most work - but if you watch the video you can see they're working at a furious pace, with a multitude of cranes lifting parts left and right.
No official opening date has been set for the Wizarding World, but it is set for sometime in 2014.
