I just started messing around with woddie supports. I tried to think of ways to save wood. This is what I came up with. It would have the Feel of a woodie but safety of a steel. Tell me what you think...

What? Have the safety of steel? Wood coasters are perfectly safe, if not more safe. Why would you do something like this? Steel is much more expensive than wood. Plus this completely ruins the look.

I was just trying something out, don't bite my head off. Plus, what I meant by safety of steel is that steel doesn't lose stability as fast as wood.

This reminds me of when I was behind a guy in line for Renegade a few weeks ago who was wondering aloud why they still build coasters out of wood when steel is safer.[stoning]

I am not saying the wodd is not as safe as steel... I am saying that steel doesnt lose stability as fast as wood. For example it would eliminate support cables. This was just a thought...

Don't companies already build wooden rollercoasters with steel supports? Voyage, Hades, etc.

It looks like your idea would work but I think you used too much steel with those heavy looking pipes.
