So I thought as I was messing about to come up with this one.

Ok which is the worst emergency stop you have ever had on a ride?

The only time I've stopped on a block on a coaster was on corkscrew at Alton Towers, but at the block section, the train is going at like 2 miles a year anyway so it wasn't bad. But we were stuck there for 30 minutes in what was at the time, the hottest day of the year and it wasn't so nice, but we did get passes to get straight on rides via the exit, rather than queueing, so it was well worth it IMO [:D][lol]

The worst stopping in general on a coaster though, that I've been on anyway, has to be the black hole at Alton Towers. When you have a 21 stone bloke sitting behind you in the seat, it BLOODY hurts at the brakes, I can tell you [lol]

The only time I've been stuck on a coaster was on Raptor. We were on the breaks before the station (there was another train stuck on the lift) but only for about 5 minutes so it wasn't too bad.

The Texas Giant ... the MCB is stupid, and completely unnecessary. It practically slows you down to the speed you have out of the station (when released from the brakes) -- all while being smiled and waved at by some ride op who has to sit on top of it under an umbrella. Arghhhh!

at a fair we were on the wild mouse (the spinning kind) those have a lot of block brakes and we slammed to a stop at every single one of them. it woould seriouslt stop on dime and we'd get thrown into the restraint and the car would keep spinning around and around. we got to go throught the ride again thankfully without the stops.

at cedar point i was on mean streak and halfway up the lift it started pouring down rain. that was pretty bad and the whole ride was spent ducking in the seat to avoid getting hit in the face with rain. i was drenched through and freezing cold. then we were on the brake before the little drop at the end, they held us there for about 10 minutes, not that it mattered, everyone was already wet and cold. finally they brought us in and didn't even apologize for holding us there. not very cedar point-like to me.

I've never been stopped on a block, though I have had some lifts slow down suddenly on me.

The worst e-stop is where you have to sit in a brake run with no shade in the middle of the summer in 35C heat....

But from e-stops I have personally experienced, I have to go with exactly what Woodie Man said, being stopped on a Zamperla Volare. I didn't get stopped at every brake on the way down, only at the second last one and that was enough to almost knock the wind out of me and bruise my shoulders.

^The second to last one is definitely the worst because it comes right when the coaster is really moving fast through the layout. And the other reason it's the worst stop is because its a small set of breaks too. They use like 3 pairs and that's it.

The worst stop that I have had on a rollercoaster was the soperdooper looper I was 10 years old and it was relly crowed at the park and they were running 3 trains at a time. I was in the front seat when it came to a stop on the block brakes it was relly rougth I wated in the train on the block brakes with my grandfather for about 2 mins so I was takling to my grandfather asking him what was going on up ahed and he sad that the train in fornt was beeing loaded and then the train in fornt of me and my grandfather left the staion and then we got into the station. Another bad stop on a rollercoaster was on rolling thunder this year I was in the fornt seat with my sisters boyfrend and it was a relly hard stop I din'nt like it becsue it was going relly fast and then just stoped on the block brakes it was relly rougth and there was sparks when the train stoped and loaed squking.

A couple times over summer, I got stopped on the Raptor block. It kinda ruins the rest of the ride.

But I would HATE for the photo-eyes to be tripped on Wicked TWister and for it to stop. I was a couple trains away from that on Both Wicked and Steel Venom.

The worst for me was on the old Spce Mountain in Paris!!! It stopped at the top of the lift where the moon was for about 30 seconds, then there was a rumbling noise and the track started to bump when another train came blasting up the lift! Luckily before there was a crash the lift started up quickly again!

Talk about a thrill ride!

The Demon (SFGAM). The coaster is fun, but man, the stop is all whiplash.

many years ago I was riding the Screamin Eagle here in St. Louis, and going up the lift hill, the train kept jerking like it was slipping off the chain.
as we reached the crest, it jerked a few times really quickly then stopped. we sat there for 40 min. finally 4 officials came walking up the track, to inform us we were leaving the train and returning to the station on foot.. the released the lapbars car by car, and as they did that, each seat was required to get out and walk back down the lift.

I've never been on an e-stop before, but I've seen it on lots of coasters at Cedar Point and PCW... my worst one was at PCW when I was waiting for Italian Job ST and it stopped on the launch.. well actually it had a rollback then stopped on the launch.... it took a half-hour for them to get to work again, then right after the same exact thing happened... then I just went and rode MineBuster instead... which was a really bad thing to do[xx(][:p][;)]

The only time it has ever happened to me was on Ninja @ SFOG. When the train was near the top of the lift it started to slow down really quickly. I thought we were just going to pause for the other train to clear the brake run, but then the train suddenly jolted back before being caught by the ainti-rollback device. I think the chain had come loose at the bottom of the lift. The ride op came up the lift after about 20 minutes to tell us not to panic, and then the ride finally started up again.

X-flight at GL. It was a cold cold cold day and the ride should've of even been running and the train just stopped in the helix. It already goes slow normally through it and we had some super fat couple in the very very back and on top of it being colder than cold, it was a painfull wait lol. I think we were there for a half hour untill they got a "rescue" crew to come out and undo the restraints and bring us down. Mind you, we were still all on our backs looking at the ground lol.
