I recently rode Intimidator at Carowinds, and the trims on it made mediocre airtime, and I also thought that the trims on Intimidator 305 took away the ride. What brakes do you think ruin a coaster?

The I305 trims aren't so bad, you get used to it. The Fury trims really sucked. Legit took all the speed out of the helix.

The trims on Mean Streak kill any chance of excitement on an already boring layout, although I guess they're a necessary evil to prevent extreme roughness. Wild Thing's trims are also pretty bad, that return run could be amazing if it wasn't braked to death, but with the brakes, it's okay at best.

But the airtime was amazing though. The helix was a nice resting point in the ride.

Behemoth. 3 trims all turned on before hitting a massive trim on the MCBR. It seriously crawls into the final brake run. Also, Intimidator 305 in the second half of 2010. I really want to get back there to ride it without those trims.

The trims on Thirteen at Alton Towers can cause the train to stall if it's half empty.

Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

mkingy is right, 13 could be pretty good if they toned down the trims quite a lot.

I don't usually count a MCBR as "trims" so im going to say Excalibur. Trims on the drop, LAME!

Rutschebanen at bakken after Kumbak made the conversion from a brakeman operated coaster to a self braking coaster... I still know the sign which was placed along the track when it still operated with a brakeman which said "photo in 3 seconds". It took about 12 seconds to get from the sign to the photo point...

Agreed, the brakes almost bring the train to a complete stop!

The ride is still pretty bad with the trims off on the first drop. IDK what softening the block brake would do.

Anaconda arrow coaster. I think it should let up on the mid course brakes a lot.

Perhaps not trims per se, but the way the MCBR is handled on Goliath/Titan is pretty appalling these days. Titan comes to a jarring full stop, I've seen people walk away all bloodied because they weren't prepared.

Meh. The airtime was like any other B&M hyper to me, with a little more kick to it. In my opinion, no #1 coaster should have a resting point in the ride, it should be non stop the whole way.

Raging Bull's trim brake on the first airtime is also a little annoying. While that brake doesn't "ruin" the ride, it would be much better off without it.

Trims on Mack??s Crazy Mines. They actually slow down painfully instant. :D

Mamba at Worlds of Fun has bi-polar trimming in the MCBR. ON most days, it brings the train down to a very low speed when going over the return hills. On cooler summer days, the trimming is very light and it has nice floater air on the return. So whenever the brakes are hard, it really ruins the experience.

The train used to fly straight through the mcbr with no brakes, though in 2014 DK got a sensor update from B&M, and this trim was put in place.
