If the Park Pack rides moved? I am starting this topic to ask you what you want to see in NL 2. So? Answer the question. [:D]

The makers of NL didnt make the Park Pack, but the people who made the Park Pack do know the guy that made NL, since I think they helped out.

If the park pack rides moved you would need one heck of a graphics card to render that and the trains all at the same time. I doubt there will be the addition of moving objects in NL2.

Have you ever looked at objects in the park pack? Do you see that cs.com logo on the objects? This stands for www.coastersims.com -- "they" (multiple folks) are the owners and creators of it.
Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all.

yea its not a matter of whether they move or not. its a matter of whether or not NL2 supports some kind of animation system which then it'd no less than practical for the people from CS.com to do it.

Ole has said several times before that if he could find a way to implement moving objects, then he would. I also don't think the framerate would be affected by it. Doesn't Doom 3 run with multiple advanced AI enemey running about on your screen? Yes, and you don't need to great of a card to play it.(just a good one to play it the way its meant to be played.) Yes but NL isn't built like a normal game. AI is processed by the CPU and then the image of their movement is processed by the GPU. NL doesn't have any independant objects other than the train and breaks and such. Most of it is a giant static object. All the moving parts are set to a pre-definted property and cannot be changed while in the game.

Theres not real good solution for this problem other than NL making its own animation program that can export to some file format that NL is made to read.

^ [lol] your commenting on something else. I was just noting that the frame rate really wouldn't change if other objects were moving about on screen besides the cars, and I compared it to Doom 3's advanced AI that would probably be more proccessor dependent then anything they could pull off with NL.
You also make some good points.

NL has much better physics then Doom 3 and it runs on different engines, so there would only be differences, and some small small similarites.

NL doesn't have to worry about as much physics wise as Doom3 or HL2 does. . .
NL takes the tracks path the weight of the train and then adds the forces in. If it touches a lift it automatically gets attached and will have no chance in hell of moving backward. The NL physics are completely reactive to an event. It can't account for a grenade that was thrown into a small room with 1 guy standing in it, the nade goes off a file cabinet is knocked over and the guy goes into the air and lands on his back on the file cabinet, but his head is overhanging it so it droops backwards and so does one arm. Did I mention 15 other random objects were in there and bounced around and finaly ended up at some location that was computed by the physics built into the game?

So I wouldn't go so far to say that NL has that much better physics, its just abit more simple.

I should try and go into the Source engine and make a coaster mod or at least play with the physics and see if I can get something similar to work.

NL doesn't support animated objects, and until it does, there will be no motion on the flat rides. Overall, NL has a very simple object engine, it doesn't support any dynamic objects except for the trains, brakes, and wheels, those are the only animated objects in there, and the engine is missing other features, such as bumpmapping. The main source of lag right now in NL is the very high polygon count of the cars. They really went overboard with it, and pretty much everything else (particularly stations, trees, and catwalks) are at crap detail, at least compared to the trains.

i bet in like 10 years no limits well just be like rct only with realistic graphics. there well be premade scenary pieces on like rct walls roffs and wut not. then food stands just wait and see
