Wait, another mediocre project from tmv? bummer....

ITS A WOODY.

This is a classic style out and back that is heavily inspired by blue streak at CP. I worked really hard on shaping the drop. (its hand built. rare for me) so i would love some comments on the drop.

Stats.
height- 87 ft.
drop angle- 55 degrees

I think you should try and maintain the same radius at the crest of the drop. I gradually gets larger as it gets steeper and I personally don't favor that (just my opinion).
It looks good so far.

^ no (reffering to cool5)

a7x, the drops on most of the old woodies do that, as far as i can tell anyways. the drop is acctually modeled more after meanstreaks drop!

^ nah, lol blue streak layout wise. blue streaks drop sucks, hence making this drop better.

There is a whole load of pics for you guys to check out. this thing is really charming, and i'm pretty much in love with it. easily one of my most adored creations, even though it was so simple.

^ there isn't any custom bracing, because there is no banking. The only spot that has custom bracing is the cross-under

Hmm... This looks pretty swell. I love the older style layout with a more modern twist.

I'm looking forward to hearing more of it.
Just keep scrolling...

Start the chain on the straight section of the lift instead of the curve upward. It's more of the PTC/other old woodie style. Otherwise, looks really good.

Nope. They're circular with a continuous radius, like A7X said. Yours actually does look more like S&S or GG, the way you have it clothoid.

there isn't any custom bracing, because there is no banking. The only spot that has custom bracing is the cross-under

So you're telling me, a turn with 1.3 lats that has no banking doesn't need any lateral bracing? Hmm, I assumed you knew better than that, lol.

Yeah lateral bracing on PTC woodies is really simple, also. It's just an angled beam with a horizontal beam near the ground, essentially. Look at Trackwalker's GASM for a good example of those.

You can see at the two points where the tracks are not adjacent (just forking off from eachother), there is indeed bracing. And look! No banking [lol]

^ ya, except for the part where there is no turn with 1.3 lats. the turn around hits 0.8 max. most of the time is like .6

High Roller at Valleyfair's turnaround pulls no more than .4 or .5 lats and is decked out with cable bracing. The point is, unless your turnaround is 4-5 ft. off the ground, the height poses a problem with wobbling. If there's weather, wind, etc., you want preparation...a.k.a. bracing [;)]

You still need bracing on the turns. And bracing on the hills too.

Also, might want to upload your pictures to somewhere else because of the NLDC closure [:(]

Ehh, it doesn't need to be fancy. Turnarounds on PTC-like woodies tend to just be many long cables (size 1 steel beams, unless you prefer 3Ds...) connected to a common footer, all spanning around connected to the supports toward the top.

You can kinda see what I'm talking about here.
