Well, here is my latest recreation of a Cedar Point coaster: Raptor. I know this coaster has been done before but it is one of my top ten coasters and I just had to try! This is my second coaster from Cedar Point's vast repertoire of coasters (Blue Streak being the first). Eventually I hope to complete all of Cedar Point's Coasters.
And as always -- I appreciate any constructive comments (good or bad) as they will help me design/recreate better coasters. Enjoy your ride on Raptor!
T: Not great. There were many jerks that need to be smoothed out. Your elements were not right. The loop was too big and too round. The zero-g roll should be flatter on the top. The cobra roll should not slant at an angle as it is coming in and out. The wingovers did not have the snap that B&M inverts have, and they were too big/high. A: Pretty good, this is a great coaster in real life. Overall you captured that, but there were some slow moments.
O: It hasn't been done too many times, so it's ok.
I've only been on raptor once but this is a great recreation of it, the best I've seen. I was about to say something about the sharp turn onto the last break run but then i remembered how the real ride does that too. Great job.
eh.... it was an ok recreation. Raptor is my fav ride and I know alot about it, and yours seemed somewut accurate, but I have seen a better one than this on coastersims. and also the last inversion is more of a flatspin/barell roll, something like that, not like a complete corkscrew, but other than that good job.
This was a pretty good track, in real life there aren't many trees except at the cobra role, and the zero gravity role was off, also it went slow at a few places and before it goes into the mcb, it doesn't go exactly underneath the actual inversion. Other than that it was better than most recreations of raptor i've seen.
Very nice recreation! Rode very much like the real thing. I think the banking in the upward helix to the MCB should have been more. Overall, an excellent recreation!
T: There are some rough spots and a couple of issues with the layout, although the general layout is right. Im pretty sure your inline is back to front and it comes a little too close to the helix. Also, some of the pullouts could have been a little longer as well as the midcourse shouldnt have wheels on it.
A: Hard to rate, but it looks and feels good, the pacing is ok, nowt wrong here.
O: As you said, Raptor has been done a few times before now, but this is one of the better ones I have seen. Still, i've seen better (Dancers version is THE ultimate), it just falls down on a couple of points. Good attempt
Great ride!!! I have never been to Cedar Point, but I'm sure it's a friggin blast!!! I have seen many many clips and pics of this coaster and it looks like you've done an excellen job with everything! Congrats on your re-creation!!!
