Description
After over 2 years of work, I bring you the Valleyfair recreation! Progress can be followed along in the thread here *http://www.coastercrazy.com/forums/valleyfair-t33080.html* All scenery and coasters were made by me except those listed. The recreation is mostly up to 2016, and has not yet added the Flying Eagles or Exteme Wheels. I really enjoyed working on this project and made many coaster friends along the way. I hope you all enjoy your time at Valleyfair!
Code Master Called it 'Incredible'

Valleyfair.
Located in Shokopee Minnesota, Valleyfair is the largest theme park in the upper midwest. Opened in 1976, Valleyfair has grown to over 75 rides and attractions, and a waterpark named Soak City. In 1978 Valleyfair was perchased by Cedar Point and started the Cedar Fair Limited Partnership.
I've never been to Valleyfair so I only can rate on pictures I've seen. Your attention to detail is amazing. I really felt I was walking through the park! The coasters felt fun. It seems like it would be a neat place to go to for a day and relax. Great job!
I downloaded because the pictures seemed to be quite detailed. After running for the first time, I should admit I am more impressed than expected. There are coaster and rides are well distributed all throuhg the park and well connected by sidewalks. Many details such as kiosks and advertising. Then only thing I would change is the illumination during the night. There are coupled of dark spots. Good job
This is a amazing recreation. But i did spot a few glitches. 1: Some supports on High Roller are yellow. 2: Near the entrance and next to the Attitudes stall..There is this roof moving like those animated flags.
what can i say about this? this was an amazing recreation with excellent attention to detail. the tracks for all the coasters came out amazing and blew me away. The scenery was well done and the 3d modeling was impressive. Its a true work of beauty and i would love to see how you continue with this in the future.
Complete kermis, oftewel een groot park met allerlei attracties, je hebt er een dagtaak aan om al die attracties te bezoeken. Leuk park, goede uitstraling en veel vermaak.
A preface for me too:never been to Valleyfair but I have no doubt that this is a unique and stunning recreation. I just can imagine how much work and sweat you put in this project and this worth the highest point on attention to detail.
I absolutely loved trackwork on Wild thing and Excalibur:2 perfect realistic recreations (especially on custom trains and supports) It's true that your coasters are smoother than the real ones but it's not important for me. This is not a single ride,it's a huge park that must be rated in its total complexity and difficulty.
I'm sure I'm gonna visit it a lot of times!!!!
Hope to see more specials from you.....Amazing job!
I'll preface this and say I've never been to Valleyfair. Unfortunately you added more realism so I had to endure Hannah Montana and Coldplay.
It was hard for me to ride the rides because of FPS issues but they seemed very good aside from some minor pumps here and there. Also Corkscrew seemed a bit too nice in the transitions compared to what it does in POVs. It really slams you into the corkscrews and the bottom of the helix IRL. The Xcalibur transitions seemed a bit too nice as well. I trust your trackwork enough to say I'm surprised that the wild mouse banked like that at the end, but then again I'm not familiar with the Arrow mice.
You absolutely nailed the supports on everything though, so great job on those. That's especially great when you factor in that you had to recreate a GCI. The supports on those are a real pain I know.
It looks really accurate even though I've never been there and I'm just continually impressed by the detailing. I'm very familiar with CP and I definitely found a ton of visual similarities in some of the structures, queue fences, etc. I wish I could say more but I don't really find anything wrong with the park aside from some trackwork hiccups, which is expected when you have so many rides to recreate.
The waterpark is excellent too. I'm totally unfamiliar with the place, but I could instantly tell what kind of slide each waterslide was, so that shows you made them right. Also again an amazing job with the buildings. I can tell what are probably midway games and what are probably shops just by looking at them. It's not perfect but if I can count the mistakes I found on my fingers that's pretty damn good for such a large park.
Again I wish I had more to say but I don't have much to criticize lol. Really bang up job you did here. It would be cool to strip the place down scenery wise and have a contest where were make a badass entrance coaster or something like that....
Can I steal a couple of fences for my Mantis recreation?
WOW, this is just incredible now that I upgraded the RAM on my rig which is a Compaq Presario, 2.8 Ghz Core Duo AMD AthlonX2 8GB DDR3 RAM and Nvidia GTX 650 1GB card (I'm into the eye candy)Also is the Sky Coaster rideable. I rode it at my home park Six Flags over Georgia and WHAT A TRIP it was. Just from looking at the park it's a 10 across the board. Thanks, Plantoris and I have all your items which I really enjoy. With my rig specs now Holy better performance Batman, averaging 7 to 15 FPS what a difference. PS I've edited this post on Jan. 25, 2017.
An excellent recreation of the park! Even though I've never been to Valleyfair, this is one of the best park recreations I've ever seen. All of the coasters were exceptionally designed just like the real rides. Hope to see the final version of the park completed and good luck on future No Limits 2 projects.
This is the best recreation of a park I've ever seen in NoLimits 2.
The trackwork is really great but you should have supported manually your wooden coasters for more realism and accuracy. But don't worry, it's a long way and I understand why you didn't.
The rides are really close to the reality.
You had a very good attention to detail since you installed each trash cans where they are in the real park.
The sceneries are great as well but you should have used textures which where not sketchup textures.
So well done, the overall is amazing and you did a great job at recreating this park even if it was difficult.
This is a fantastic NL2 project. Plantoris worked for about 2 years on this and it absolutely shows. The level of detail is astounding and the amount of custom work needing to make this large of a project work is really impressive (Although a certain amount of creativity was used in incorporating in-game features into the recreation).
Ultimately, this was an extremely ambitious project, recreating a full-blown amusement park, but it is accurate down to the support beam.
This was INCREDIBLE! i found my self running around the park like a little kid. I had to set my settings all the way down to run it (I'M on a Mac Mini 2010-windows 7x64) But I still had fun with it. Nice work!
Your recreation of Valleyfair is nearly PERFECT! This is my home park, and I know it well. Your attention to detail with the buildings, rides, and sounds is PHENOMENAL!
I only have 2 critiques - and they're minor:
Trackwork Accuracy I put at 9/10, just because Wild Thing, Excalibur, and Corkscrew are TOO smooth. I know it's hard to recreate imperfections, but there it is. You've made the rides as THEY SHOULD be.
Scenery Accuracy I put at 8.5/10 for 2 reasons: 1.) The terrain elevations are pretty flat (not that I'd be able to perfectly recreate VF's terrain, but the rating is for accuracy. I'd give you 100/10 compared to what I can do! And 2.) Trees and plants aren't exact. Again, given the constraints of NL2, not a big deal. This is still EPIC work!
On a personal note, being able to ride Wild Thing and Excalibur in NL2 is a dream for me! Also, I will likely (for my own fanboy obsessiveness) remove Enterprise and add a Star Flyer - and play around with a front gate coaster concept.
Thank you for this stunning re-creation! VF should give you a lifetime Season Pass + All Season Dining + All Season Fast Lane!
This is definitively a great recreation, The rollercoasters seemed to be almost exactly like how they are in real life. Also, the attention to detail was fantastic, there was so many little details around the whole park that really added to the whole experience. I also love how you made most of the rides rideable, which also was really cool. It clearly looks like a lot of work was put into it.
Also, just as a little side note to the people who are getting a bad frame rate, I put all the graphic setting all the way down, turned on vertical sync and disabled anti-aliasing, which gave me about 20 frames per second.
Yeah, sorry friend. Nobody can run this. My computer is on the relatively higher end of things and I was getting one frame every five seconds. I had to force quit NoLimits from the task manager because it wouldn't even respond to my Esc command. Until you release a stripped version, only like three people on this website will be able to explore it, including yourself. If you made it for yourself and that enjoyment, I totally get that. But I, personally, want to play and fantasize about future roller coasters ideas for them and I can't do that with this file, especially because the package is locked. Nice to see the pictures in your thread though.
