Avatar erased?

Why does my avatar get erased every time I edit my profile?

Because the scripts in the profile = fail and there's nothing programmed to prevent the avatar field from being updated when you update your profile. Since custom avatars are separate than the forum avatar, when you update your profile, the avatar field gets update too because avatars are part of your profile. So whatever default avatars are in the forum, the one selected or default one is chosen when you save your profile.

So if we edit our profile we have to spend 500 points to get our avatar back?

Or you could politely ask one of your friendly although sometimes hostile neighborhood administrators to fix it for you by donating the 500 points or manually setting your avatar.
