FVD++ strange display Mac Bootcamp Windows 8

I get a really weird cut-off display when I try to run FVD in Windows 8 on my Mac. It's to the point I don't/can't really use it. It's a little hard to explain and I don't have time to provide screenshots right this second, but it's mostly the text that ends up strange and ever-so-slightly cut-off.

Has anyone experienced this before? Even if no, any ideas? I tried running in a couple of different compatibility settings and none of them worked, but there's a few more I could try. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
