Hey guys. I recently finished the track work to a new design. It is inspired by GCI's new Mountain Flyer in China. I am really excited to upload this track to see what ya'll think. I am just starting on the supports, but hate doing them so won't be doing anything too intricate with them. Here are some pictures to get you excited.

Also, does anyone know how to convert to .3ds from either AutoCad or Solidworks? I would like to make a station for this ride, but I have never done 3ds before and do not know how to convert my CAD or Solidworks files.

From what i know cad doesn't support .3ds and I am unsure about solidworks but would say I have never heard of anyone creating with it so doubt it will export to .3ds either. I would say the best way to go about it is to look at the options you have on both programmes and see if they do support .3ds.

On the ride side I am useless at wooden shaping but will say I like the terraforming you have done, has a nice look of being there first.

3D's are all about exporting. When you have finished your model inside your CAD program, you need to export it as a 3D file. It will be something like: File > Export > 3D Model. If not, then google it because I, unfortunately, do not own the same program.

The coaster looks good. Handbuilt or Tooled?

Thanks for the replies. It is all handbuilt.
I do know that I need to export to .3ds, but I know both programs do not have a built in plugin for that. I was asking to see if anyone knew if there was a plugin I could download or a converter somewhere. What do you guys use for 3d's? Sketchup?

I use Sketchup, but I think AutoCad should have a way to export 3D's.
Again, try looking on Google.

Is there a plugin in Sketchup I need to download to export to .3ds?

^they are the thin wooden supports. The large wooden supports are too thick and look awkward.

If you design it in AutoCAD, I can export it to 3ds for you.

The thin supports are the more proper size (~6x6) whereas the large are far to big (~12x12). Just double the amount you have and it will look better.

Thanks for the advice AyTrane. I will let you know if I am going to make any 3d's in autocad. I will probably leave the supports just like they are since I definitely do not have time to double the amount lol

I don't mean to be annoying, but can someone please rate or comment on my track? I put a lot of work into it and would like some feedback. http://www.coastercrazy.com/track_exchange/detail/18312
