Beautious pics. Freddie!

So my mom got a Canon SX20, which is an SLR-like point and shoot with 20x zoom.


It is very fun to use, the viewfinder is great (never used a real one before), and it feels very nice, but the controls and the image quality (quite a bit of noise, especially at iso400+) aren't quite as good as my S90. To be honest, I don't see the need for all that zoom, I rarely used more than the 4x my camera has when using it. But the viewfinder and feel really is great...makes me want an SLR.

View some full size, you'll see the noise I'm describing. The S90 has far better high iso performance.

Have you tried doing tilt-shift photos, if your camera allows it?

Tilt shift is photoshop, not in the camera. I haven't gotten into photoshop at all yet though, so no.

Freddie, those pics are NICE. I especially like the damn one and the blurry Red Line Car one. Whereabouts around Boston do you live? Cause if you are really looking for some amazing photo ops, take the Red Line out to Alewife or Braintree and walk around those big stations... they are gold mines of architectural and portrait material.

I'm in Canton, about half way down the Prov/Stoughton commuter rail line. I was actually thinking about going into Cambridge tomorrow for a show at the Middle East, so if I do go I think I'm gonna go a little early and explore with my camera a bit. I love all the brick sidewalks and squares around Cambridge.

So I missed my train yesterday, so I spent a couple hours at the station taking the same pics I always take.

So I did some exploring today, and found pretty much the most cliche horror movie/haunted house ever.

So first I went up some stairs


Then I did some hiking



Found an underground bunker


Then this guest house type thing




Then this..






Didn't go in or very close because of all the no trespassing signs, wasn't in the mood to walk out to a police car waiting for me. But now that I know it's fairly well hidden from the street, I might try to get in next time.

I'll upload some more pictures of Antwerp Central Station later. It's a 4 level train station which leaves quite an impression when you're standing there in real life.

Canon EOS 450D with standard 18-55mm lens. Those pictures are edited quite a bit though, I like to play with RAW files alot.
