Did TTD seriously rollback that many times in one day?
Oh, were you expecting something here?

That's pretty funny. In all seriousness though, how often does TTD experience a rollback? Also, are they all "coincidence" or do the ride ops have a way to ensure a rollback? I saw an episode of Bert the Conqueror where he was at CP doing the fearsome foursome challenge and he was talking to the ride op about the rollbacks, and sure enough, it happens during his ride. Seems to convenient to be uncontrolled. Not to mention all the different videos on Youtube featuring rollbacks on this ride.

Ride Ops cannot control the speed of TTD... Therefore, ride ops cannot control roll backs.

A roll back surely could be forced by E-stopping the ride during the launch though?

Ive seen 1 train roll back 3 times before making it over - with people.

Thing to note in that video...looks chilly. Looks like there was possibly moisture and in the first rollback, it looks like the train was empty. If it was starting up from a long delay and the air temps are cold or chilly, it'll take each train several times before the bearings warm up enough that it'll make it over.

This is pretty common in Halloweekends when the temps drop down to the 40-50s. They used to run it in slightly higher winds but they dont even try that now. Especially if the wind is coming from the south which means it will work against the train as it crests.

Too bad I've only been to Cedar Point on hot days, I would love to see a rollback or be on one.

Yeah, it was pretty funny, that is why I was asking about the frequency of rollbacks on this ride. Does Kingda Ka experience frequent rollbacks, or, is it mainly the winds coming of Lake Erie that are to blame?

KingDa Ka Does not really roll back a lot but it breaks down semi-frequently. I was on a train that got stuck at the top but with most of the train leaning forward so my friend and I instructed everyone on the train to push and lean forward and probably because of two fat guys in the second row we were saved and we finished the trip to the bottom.
