When I get a private message, I receive no notification.

Shouldn't the "Messages" button/link at the top right of the forum indicate that I have a new message?

The envelope icon has its lid open you get a pm, otherwise its a closed envelope. You can use the user panel to get a popup. Just set the settings there for it. I've not had spare time to make the default notification more obvious since I agree its barely noticeable.

Yea that's why I set my PM notifications to Pop up, so I would know about them.

Outbox as far as I can tell is for pm's that haven't been read by the person you sent it to.
