The fire appears to be closer to Gatlinburg then to Dollywood right now. The local news is reporting that evacuations are concentrated on downtown where all the touristy things are. This is about 1 mile south of Dollywood. Their communications folks stated that they have evacuated the resort hotel and cabins and there is no damage to the park to report.

Update:

"The fire has reached the Upper Middle Creek Ridge near the park, but we have crews on the park to protect any structures. There is no damage at this time."

We did evacuate the 19 occupied cabins in our cabin resort earlier this evening and just evacuated the occupied 50 rooms at Dollywood's DreamMore Resort and the families have relocated to areas outside of the fire danger area."

This is horrible of course but if lightning rod catches fire I might just laugh myself to death.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

I heard there was a small fire at the end that they put out as fast as possible I could be wrong but I know there was a small fire in county fair either Lightning rod or next to the train depot

Lol Wildfire is out of commission indefinitely and Lightning Rod might be affected by a wildfire. This is the RMCiest year so far.

Gatlinburg fire chief: "The worst is definitely over." Focus today is suppressing remaining fires and making access to roads.

He's sure about that, right? Cuz it's very easy to tempt fate.

Would be a shame if Lightning Rod got destroyed by a Wildfire
Ok but how desperate you have to be to voluntarily fly from another country to go to Thorpe?
