Metallica or Iron Maiden?

If anyone is into heavy metal, heres a question: Which do you find better, Metallica or Iron Maiden, I find it hard to decide here, because both bands are equally good, but I would choose Iron Maiden as they slightly have better guitar solos. What do you think everyone?

Now thats a tough question. Both bands are simply great and are both great inspirations for other bands and i know myself also. I think lyricly i prefer James Hertfeild over Bruce Dickinsons fly high vocals but musicaly wise im not sure. As said both bands have great guitarist, Hammet can slam out those solos but again so can the lead guitarist of Iron Maiden (cant remember his name) As said i think Iron Maiden does have much harder solos but some dont go with the songs that well. That Number Of The Beast for example. The solo is awsome but where the hell did the get that from. Im pretty sure its not in the same scale as the rest of the song, but then again that makes them unique. I think drums wise Lars of Metallica is probaly the best of the two period!

I think i prefer Metallica more due to the pure range there songs cover. From ballads such as 'Nothing Else Matters & Fade To Black' to all out heavy metal 'Sad But True' and everything inbetween 'One, Master Of Puppets, The Unfogiven' Whereas after a while Iron Maiden sound pretty much the same to me...well lyricly. But then again Iron Maiden are British so [pshades]

They are both amazing, I personally don't think either is better than the other. They are equally as good in their own respects.

im gonna have to go with the classic metallica, IM blows away the new metallica.

Metallica have done better songs, but they have also done MUCH worse. Iron Maiden for consistently releasing great songs, but Full on Metallica is a bit better. They are both great though!

Iron Maiden sound very classical in some areas of their songs.

Well, I am a member of the we hate bruce dickinson (is that even how you spell his name?? lol) club I think Metallica are better, because I can stand Hetfields voice whereas Bruce just sounds like a girl, I would love iron maiden if it wasn't for him, some of the guitar solos, riffs and so on are just amazing, and then he starts singing so I just run away crying I hate him!! So, Musically, Maiden but erm, vocally , Metallica [:)]

[:O] Bruce Dickinson doesnt sound like a girl, he has a bloody good rock voice, you won't find many singers as good as him, plus he saved Iron Maiden from going into chaos!

Bah, if you want to hear girly singers, that retard from Jane's addiction sounds like a girl, as does Geddy Lee from Rush. Compared to them Bruce Dickinson is Barry White.

I'd say Iron Maiden is better because they have put out a ton of great albums whereas metallica fell right after the black album. I really can't stand listening to st. anger. It is by far the worst cd I have heard from a metal band. Iron Maiden has also been around longer and still continues to put out great cds.

Iron Maiden never really changed their sound, Metallica has done extreme changes more than once. St Anger isn't a bad CD, too many people expected it to sound like Master of Puppets or Kill Em All. That's why all these idiots say it's a bad CD. Open your mind.

I havn't listened to Iron Maiden so i'll have to go with Metallica.

In my opinion, both suck. But if I had to listen to either one, I would choose Iron Maidon over Metallica any day.
