is it possible to have phpbb forums on a server like geocities? if so, can someone please PM me on how to do this?

They have a free bulletin board that can be used on Lycos.uk I think.
Invision Power Boards also have a free bulletin board service, but it is embedded with adds.

phpbb uses a MySQL database backend, which is not offered on any of the Yahoo Geocities web hosting plans. I do not know of any free web host that has MySQL included. Some of the cheapo ones do, but typically you will end up paying 10-20 bucks a month for web hosting capable of having a forum with either ASP or PHP/MySQL

Yeah It sucks because most free webservers make you post 50 times before you can get hosting which sucks.

I use invision power board... or something like that. its just a forum, you dont need to download any things, you can just get it online if u get what i mean

I use a localhost which means i host it on the home computer. Its real easy to set up and have as many databases as i like.
