Re: Survey about a new virtual queueing system company I fou

Thanks for all of the kind words, folks! A few things I'd like to reply to: Disney's fastpass is a very similar concept Not at all, actually. Disney's Fastpass has no concept of "virtual queues"; everyone with a Fastpass is simply in a set of people who can show up and ride at any time in ...

Boot camp is a way that Apple provides to let you run Windows natively on your mac via dual booting. The advantages of bootcamp over a VM are that it's much faster, but you're require to reboot to switch OSes, whereas a VM runs on top of OSX so it's just like another application.

jayman's got the right idea. Although I won't be praying (you probably don't want me to; any god that hears my prayers will probably make their opposite happen out of spite![:P]), I will most certainly keep you and your family in my thoughts, and continue to wish you all the best.

There is no version of the pack extractor that is compatible with 10.7+. I was going to make this a summer project for me, but I got a real job instead. So until that's started and finished, your options are to run a virtual machine or boot camp.

Well, perhaps not? I wouldn't rule out the possibility of an Alice-in-wonderland-themed ride. That sounds absolutely kickass.

He already said that there will be a lift hill LOL

I mean, I guess he could change his mind, but given it's Newtoned I kinda doubt it.

I disagree on the "off theme" harnesses. I like a cohesive look on roller coasters rather than something that's mostly cohesive. I'm also very much not a fan of a sharp contrast between the spine/ties and the rails. Keep that difference subtle. I guess if I had to give you a specific color for what ...

If that's the case, then you'll have to (I believe) export the track as a model and place it back in to the file (either in the editor or in the CK). I'm not terribly familiar with the CK, but that's my best guess. I'm basing this off of the fact that the CK probably doesn't actually change the codi...

With a 400-foot lift hill, you're probably going to need more than the "traditional" 2 support structures if you're supporting it with I305-style trusses, only because it has so much more horizontal space to cover. If you use MF-style towers, then there really is no "normal" way to do it and thus an...

I don't care how much you absolutely despise lateral G-forces, they're there no matter what you think of them [:P] Seriously, though. The corkscrews look absolutely terrible. I hate to be that blunt about it, but they really do. You need to use more than 2 segments per roll. I would say that the minimum number of segments to get a reasonably-shaped corkscrew is 6... Speaking of shaping concerns, I don't care whether or not you're ...

Judging by the fact that the first element exists on his ride, I would say he made this in Newton, and judging by the quality of the first element, he's probably pretty new to Newton, and thus probably isn't experimenting with laterals. Therefore, I can conclude that it's likely that there are no la...

Great shots, but that heartline roll looks really flat. How does it ride? Other than that, it's looking great. I was a little bit concerned about the s-hill, but it looks like you've fixed the issues that I was able to see. It rotates a tad fast for my taste, but you're the one with the file, so I'm...
