Back after a long NL/NL2 hiatus

I go by Onjin here. It's been a few years I believe since I was last active and building NL1 rides. I bought NL2 the day it came out and still have yet to publish a ride or even get critique in the HH thread. I also have the Steam version and I am WhatGrenadeWhere?. Anyways, greetings to the new com...

Re: Idea, ideas - the creative process

For NL1, my process (once I got the hang of the editor), I would: 1 Take a fat bong rip. 2 Go to CC.com/NLE.com/CS.com(RIP) and download coasters and get ideas from other creators. 3 Make contest style boundary lines in weird configurations, choose a ride type and see what I could do, usually in my ...

Re: Hard truths about scripting

Well damn, I guess I'm stuck with the default scripts. I know some basic XHTML and that's about it. It is a great feature. I think some of these AAA video game developers need to look at how to transition game 1 to game 2. NL2 is night and day to NL1.

Re: Now Accepting Pre-Orders for CC Shirts

I like the design, especially the first one, with supports under the track. I would suggest playing around with some other fonts as well. If you glance at it or are far away it looks like Cooster Crazy.

Re: Heide Park Showing Off Newly Named B&M Wing Coaster

Nice. Looks like it was designed in NL and the builder forgot to choose a track color, lol.

"The ride's seven car trains look to fly over that first speed hill, but then slow down considerably in all the other elements." I count 6 cars. Or I'm blind lol.

Re: My Whole Building Process [Turbo]

Hey Turbo, nice vid. I do think heavy rock or metal for music background would be better, but that's just me. I find it strange that almost every coaster video out there, the music is some kind of dance/trance etc. I'll be sure to sub. How do you split the views up within the editor. I'm still tryin...

Weird, my help files are fine no matter when or where I open them, but they are so damn basic that they really aren't needed.

Phyter said they felt they needed to get the sim out, so they only did so much for track styles and will be adding more through updates etc. I can't complain at all, 4D and B&M Flyers, baby! Hope the Wing Rider comes soon too. And now to topic, if you can't afford the 99, get standard, upgrade later...

My first project is a wood coaster for simplicity so I can get familiar with the program. For my brake run and station I needed it straight but at a downhill slope. After making this straight as in your Tut, I added my pre lift section and it banked portions of the brake run and station. I found mys...

I was wary of my PC as well, because I have the integrated processor/gfx card, AMD/Radeon 6550 I think 8G RAM, and the demo works fine as does the editor itself. Definitely a bit different, but I like it.

^Okay. That's why the wood coaster in the demo sounded just like the NL1 ones. Maybe they wanted to get NL2 out sooner and then can patch/update to better and new coaster sounds(if possible in the coding)? One more day and NL2 Pro is mine. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Oh, Sauron, the demo works great so I ...

^and it may also be the smallest. Last time I was there the new coaster was the spinning ride, can't remember the name, but I didn't get to go on it since the line was 3 hours. And I haven't been on the log ride since I was a kid. It was closed when I was there. Nice to see it was updated and reopen...

I was expecting improvements to NL1 and am blown away of how more detailed NL2 is. Sauron, I downloaded the demo and all works just fine. Guess the integrated card I have is sufficient. Can't purchase until Tuesday. The long wait I must suffer. <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" ...

I'm going to purchase regardless. I should be able to buy it and if I can't use it until I upgrade my hardware that is fine with me. I'll at least have it. I really can't wait to see what you guys make. Especially with multiple rides on one map.

Thank you Sauron, but I did see that update. I need more detailed specs than "fast GFX" and "multi-core CPU". I'm a complete hardware novice. It's just the 2 last ones that I'm concerned with. My PC is good with all other specs. That's why I was asking for "Official" specs. I am running on an 2.4GHz...

What? No 4D or B&M Flyer or B&M Drop rides, Kyle? Lol. I'll be starting with the Flyer myself. I really like the new editor features that I've seen. Wow. I hope my PC will at least run it on low settings until I can upgrade Motherboard, CPU and GFX Card.

Are we going to get official system requirements? Will it run on a AMD 2.4GHz chip and Radeon 6550? And I knew it was going to be expensive. Going Pro Version, are you?

Oh, okay. Yeah, I asked because of the track dumping left out of the station but it's hard to see where it goes. Looks like it will end up just to the right of the brake run and transfer in that ditch. Ride looks sick as f@#$!

A real tough decision due to the wood manufacturers being included. Could have been 2 separate polls, 1 steel, 1 wood. So I went with B&M as an overall. Minimal supports, almost always 2 toned, with bright, eye catching colors and that damn sound they make. Otherwise I would go with GCI as a number ...
