Re: How many B&M Roller Coasters have you ridden?

The surveys are not accurate. I came up with 46 North America and 49 World (3 International). So I went through my list and my actual is
45 North America and 51 World.

Re: RMC Mean Streak - 2018

I've had a theory for some time now that maybe the ride will NOT follow the same layout as before, that the 2nd & 3rd hills will be reversed. This photo gave me another clue. I saved the photo and then enlarged to to see better. That small airtime hill that is thought to follow 1st drop, does no...

Re: Patriot - CGA 2017 - Vortex Floorless Conversion

As much as I loved the stand-ups when they first came out, they don't age well! I loved Iron Wolf in the beginning, but when I rode it right before it was removed, it was so brutal! Worse than any Vekoma out there! Mantis and Carowinds Vortex were same way. I rode Rougarou opening weekend after its ...

Re: Accident At Phantasialand

Sad to hear! Coming from a factory that preached safety, I am surprised many parks do not have a "lockout/tagout" program to prevent these kinds of tragedies. When a machine is shut down to be worked on, maintenance will lockout the power source with a lock that only he has key to. That wa...

Re: Riding Coasters in the Rain

I have ridden a lot of coasters in the rain. But worse than rain is rides on Magnum & Mantis in sleet and hail! Ouch!

Re: The Incredible Hulk 2016 Retracking

Will be interesting how the ride will be now. I was never a fan of Hulk. I don't know what it was, but it always felt boring to me. Lot of it could have been my expectations after hearing everywhere how awesome it was. Best part was theming. Will give Universal credit. They do great job! Except Drag...

Re: Blue Hawk - Six Flags Over Georgia

So happy that Vekoma getting into changing their restraints.I think it was the bommerang at Carowinds that had them a few years ago and I really enjoyed it!

Re: Best Finale?

Voyage. Beast still a great ending, only good part left of ride.

Also, the Old Texas Giant comes to mind. That ending was crazy back in the day!

Re: Dollywood Trip (Need Advice)

A lot depends on what types of things you are interested in. My wife and I were last down there in 2008 on our honeymoon. That whole stretch from Sevierville through Pigeon Forge to Gatlinberg is one huge tourist trap. There is so much to do. We went out and did different things each day. Forbidden ...

Re: Yellow Track At B&M Clermont Plant - Hot Go Park Mega

^^I recall reading somewhere that the Clermont facility supplies B&M track for the North America & Asia markets, and there is a facility in Europe that supplies their market. Looking at RCDB, there are total of 7 B&M's slated for 2016. Two in U.S. and five in Asia (with one of those a re...

Re: Huge Expansion Plans for Parc Ast??rix

When i was last their with ACE in 2002, I was one of the only people that rode Goudrix multiple times. I loved it! As long as you held your head back against those "wings", your head didn't hit the OTSR. I tried once to hold my head out away from restraint like I do on most looping coaster...

Re: Cedar Point 2016- Valravn

They normally start with all nylon wheels. As the testing progresses, they start replacing them with polyeurothene wheels to slow it down to their desired speed.

Re: Gold Track At B&M Clermont Plant

I wonder where it'll be going. Isn't it a strange time of year to be making new track? Maybe it'll be shipped overseas. Really, when you think about it, Clermont produces steel for 3 coasters every year. That is a lot of track and supports to make! I imagine they have coaster stuff coming out of th...

Re: Kentucky Kingdom 2016 - Storm Chaser

I find it odd that the handrails going up the lift are wood! Looks weird on an all steel coaster.

Re: Holiday World 2016

I love Voyage to death! I am one of the few that have said trims did little to the experience. I don't say it to "kiss ass". IM O, the only thing hurt from the MCBB is the triple down. I agree that the loss of that airtime really sucks. But, the train regains its high speed by the end. On ...

Re: The Offseason Blues

If I had NL, I would probably be on it a lot. Need to reinstall my old RCT and Hyperrails. I did just finish making a coaster word-find with about 175 coaster names in the puzzle. Going to submit it to GOCC to send out to its members.

Re: Amusement Park Pet Peeves

It's funny how, even with certain policies, ride-ops aren't consistent. I remember once year when friend & I went to Busch Tampa, they were enforcing the re-ride policy on Montu, having to get off after 2 rides and walk around. But, over on Kumba (which is IMO the most intense coaster in park), ...

Most Coaster rides in one day?

I would imagine this has been discussed but I could not find it through the search. I am curious as to how many times others can ride a coaster in one day. I know I am always pushing myself to see what I can handle. I remember as a kid riding Double Loop at Geauga Lake 10 times in a day and thinking...

Re: Top Ten Coasters

I find it really hard to combine wood and steel. It is hard enough to come up with them separately! Re: Coasters You Missed Out On

Original Bat at Kings Island. I waited in line with parents over two hours. We had one couple ahead of us to get on when it broke down. Never got to ride it. High roller at Stratosphere in Las Vegas. The first time I went to Las Vegas, the Stratosphere was under construction. I didn't get back there...
