On the 2016 SFOG park map, in the spot where Ninja currently sits, I noticed that the coaster is showing blue track and white supports (instead of the regular red and black). In the attractions list, it reads "The All New Ninja: Coming Late Spring 2016!" The details are vague, but it looks like Ninja will be getting some changes for 2016, with at least one of them being a new paint scheme.

It's been pretty much unofficially confirmed it's getting new trains too.

Good thing they aren't getting rid of it. The butterfly inversion is beautiful.

Always had a soft spot for that hunk'o'crap. Sort of the prototype of the SLC layout in many ways.

If I remember correctly, it received actual arrow trains several years ago to replace the vekoma trains it had originally, yes? maybe new mk-900 or mk-1200 trains? that would be awesome!

The new train would even get an OTSR, I think, due to reach envelope issues.

If it's like those MK1200's they are restrictive enough for envelope issues and free enough with the comfortable vest restraint. :)

Blue and red track parts... Then are those supports going to be all white so that coaster looks like the Great American Scream "Ninja"?

;)

@sfovergeorgia: "NINJA" UPDATE: Painting ~70% done. We have narrowed the new coaster name to 3 choices. Any guesses? #SFOGThrills

SF has a partnership with DC, not Marvel.
Predicting that the ride will be renamed Z-Force.

Well, if the Mack's looper at Europa Park was not built, they would name this Vekoma like "Blue Fire". ;)
