the framerate on this demo is low because all the objects are 3ds objects, in the actual game version, they won't be and the framerate will be much better

I checked out the coaster calculator, cool little tool. For this particular application though, a printout of the above table of lengths is faster and easier to use, and you can look at various lengths at one time and consider things, at least for me.

I wasn't aware of the NL Calculator...from what I've seen here, it appears that not many other people do either, so thanks for the info :D

station lengths

I see a lot of people making coasters with stations that have a number of gates that do not match the number of seat rows in the cars of the trains they are running. this is a minor detail and doesn't affect the track itself, but doing it right is all part of working with the NL editor. I got the fo...

yeah I know that, it works fine the first time, select NoLimits and Go and the list becomes all NoLimits...then after I ride and review a track, no amount of back-button pushing takes me back to the exchange list and if I click on the Echange bar I get the original list of rides that include all sim...

customized exchange page

you've made it possible to customize the home page, would it be possible to do the same for the exchange page? What I'm talking about is being able to set it so that only specific coaster sims show up, such as only NoLimits coasters. It's no biggie, just a thought.

how can you steal someone else's supports? I'd love to be able to save my OWN support structures, but can't find a way!

I don't care about the rates, the critiques are more important. When an honest critique is given, I know it, and I knew the track wasn't perfect, I expected to hear criticism of it. I didn't expect to get called on the number of inversions is all (well actually, I was quite sure that DjJavixxxxx wou...

it wasn't you Biggs, the owner of the critique has already spoken...and none of the elements I used were prefabs, as stated in the track info section, I made them all, I spent a lot more time than I wanted to, trying to make the track as smooth and flowing as possible. in some places I succeeded, in...

like I said in the beginning, I wasn't complaining about the rate and I was glad to get rated...the whole question is How Many Is Too Many? Obviously I put too many too close together with only three breaks in the action (one air hill, one mcbr and one lift that goes right into a dive loop). I didn'...

well that's the question isn't it...it wasn't that long ago when coasters didn't have ANY inversions, now you can go to Sea World and I think Kraken has 7 or 8 of them, the envelopes are always and will always be pushed on such things, each new theme park will want to out-do the others to draw the c...

Gimme a Break!

I'm not going to take this to the complaint forum because it's more of a debatable point than a gripe: I just uploaded a coaster that has quite a few inversions, and the second person to rate it said there were too many of them. Is there an actual limit set somewhere, carved or even spray painted on...

it's a great track for beginner's to play with, about as simple and easy to make as they come, and equally as boring. There just isn't any way to get the rush from the sims that you would get on the real ride and I don't even bother downloading anything even remotely resembling that ride anymore

just came from Tia's site, v1.3.3 is out now for the construction kit...I have no idea what has been added or improved over v1.3.2 but I got it anyway and installed it yeah the terraformer really causes problems for my computer, and the suggestion to use the auto-generator was a dud, it kills framer...

yeah you're right, everyone's entitled to their opinion, and I can take honest criticism, but when it's skewed beyond reason and cites things not there, I feel like speaking up. Like all the other coaster sims out there, NL has its flaws, particular in scaling and smoothing (even Ole Lange admits to...

The support optimizer is a great idea, but there's one flaw in it that bugs me a little: it pokes the 4 x 4's through the handrails. No biggie, but it is an obvious thing and there's no way to correct it. For really big coasters, it's the only way to go, it really does cut down on the filesize and i...

well this is called a Forum, and I believe that concept goes bck to the ancient Greeks, where everyone gets to have their say...if having your say is going to be reduced to "bitching" simply because what one says is a form of dissent, then lets not call it a Forum and let's not include the word "com...

this guy is out of his mind, he wants to dictate exactly how we build coasters according to his and only his standards, and they are insane standards. Those who post woodies and other coasters with a lot of data/large filesizes, would be doing us poor schmucks on dialup a huge favor if they'd zip their rides up, this really cuts down the filesize, and doens't degrade the quality of the track at all...if ever there was a programmed format that goes...

you're not alone, I consider him to be the single worst rater I have ever encountered, his rates are attacks on reason and common sense, every single time, I don't think he knows a thing about roller coasters that's worth knowing and the concept of raters helping people build better tracks flies out...
