7 rows and 35 seats? How do you figure that? 7 rows would be 28 riders, the trains are 4 seats wide, not 5.
Tell me the average dispatch time for the statio, and I can work out the pph for you.

do you just multiply the number of riders per train, times the average time its dispatched?

^ not exactly. The way I do it is

3600 / (average dispatch time) x (riders per train)

the way I will be doing it is:

(60 min) / (time it takes for a train to finish one complete circuit) X (riders/train) X (# of trains)

That's not very accurate, due to stacking etc...

Better to just time the interval between dispatches, and multiply by the number of rides...number of trains doesn't factor into it.

^ Exactly. CJD's formula gives the theoretical maximum, the other one gives the actual one for that ride, based on the dispatch times. If the person has the mathmatically correct dispatch time, they should both produce the same (or similar) results. If they come out different, there will eventually be stacking.

cjd, I know you allready said "no", but let me ask again...

I just now saw this topic (and the other one where I should have signed up); any chance that you could let contestants in, allthough they never signed up, in the case that (like allways) a couple (20+ I bet) of contestants fail to submit an entry?

Buster.

PS: I would understand if you don't change your mind now, but be warned that I WILL have to change my title to "undefeated champion"...

PPS: cjd's formula should be correct even when stacking ocures because when a train has to wait somewhere on the track, the time to finish a complete circuit will be (you guessed it) longer.

I just did the calculations, and my coaster gets 2240 riders an hour!

My coaster gets 2488.88 continued on cjd's formula
and 2240 on Wing-Over's formula.

Im going to go with cjd's formula for this one.

2488.88 cont. riders an hour.

Under WingOver's way, mine is 3291 RPH.

Under CJD's way, mine is 2914 RPH.

So I guess im good. My ride is too short to run with 3 trains. Its fast and Furious baby.

Mine is with two, if I didn't make it clear. But my ride time is around 105 seconds, which is 1.75 minutes. That allows a ton of riders, as the trains are 8 rows.

If both formulas produce different results, then you've got the incorrect dispatch time, and you will eventually get stacking.

For those of you who don't know, the formula is:

Dispatch time = (Ride duration in seconds) / (Number of trains)

Dispatch Time:

Ride duration (Mine is 2 min. 47 sec. or 2.76 min.) / 4

2.76 / 4 = 0.69 = Dispatch time

3600 / 0.69 X 4 = 20869.565217391304347826086956522 riders an hour

I think there is something wrong their wing-over...

2 mins 47 seconds = 167 seconds
167 seconds / 4 = 41.75

The total ride time has to be in seconds.

Thanks for clearing that up WIngOver. I get the exact same number for both formulas. 2194. Thats pretty good I suppose.

All right, after fixing the seconds and minutes, wing over's formula gives me 2414 riders an hour.

On the No Limits tool bar, there is a tab that says Coaster, click that, then click Settings, then click Trains, and at the bottom of the window that appears there will be a bar that says Car Texture and beside it a button that says browse, click the browse button, then search for the picture you want to use as a car texture.

That would be dumb. Your entire car would be that picture. Just open a cartexture in an editing program and build over it. Thats what I do.

I do the setting thing and it only affects the front and sides, the seat color and what not that you decide in settings is stil your choice.
