I'm going to come back to my decision earlier. Since it wasn't clear in the Beta draft too wether BSG was a valid pick. Like ianko66 in the Beta draft, I'll consider your turn 'skipped' so you can pick two coasters next round.

But please guys, If you are unsure wether a pick is valid or not, check it out or send me a pm. This way we can avoid somebody missing a pick because of dumb misunderstandings.

RCDB.com was the only valid site for closed and operating, and there it stands operating so I do not agree with youre discision

edit: (since my post didn't have a pick I am allowed to edit right?)
I've read the whole story now in the Beta topic, and still I don't agree..... You say that the parks site is reeference, but we all know that it has been operating and it will be operating in the near future, presumingly next year. You said that RCDB.com is the reference unless it can be proven otherwise. That means that you must check now if every ride that has been picked was open on the date of pick. Some coasters don't operate for a fair amount of time becouse of maintenence... See this as a long period of maintenence. Troy (toverland) won't be open on tuesdays wednesdays and thursdays this winter....

but hey you're the judge you can overrule me, I have no problems with that, but I think that you should make this a bit clearer. So that there is only one reference.

The ride never opened to the public, rcdb is wrong. During initial testing a seat malfunctioned.

If you do you're research (lets say, official anauncement by RWsentosa) you know that the ride opened for 2 weeks then an engeniring flaw in the seats was recovered during an early morning test routine, where stress coused a seat to break off the ride. But the ride opened and will be open in the future, just the seats are beiing revised for now. The coaster still is intact and will operate in the future and has been operating, so why on earth would it not be a valid pick. It's just temporarily closed for maintenence, as stated on their site (temporarely closed).

^ That's what I agree with. If RCDB was stated as the official site, it should be used as the reference site. The rule states that if RCDB says a ride is CLOSED, then the picker must prove it is open through other sources, not the other way around. Theorectically, during the Xcelerator issue, someone could have picked it and RCDB could have said it was open but someone could have come in and said that the park said it was closed so it's invalid. It seems to me like this decision is a direct conflict with what the rules state. The rule is for cases of soft openeings etc. This ride seems to have had a soft opening for a few weeks and was then shut down for maintenance, but it did open and RCDB confirms that. So what if RCDB is sometimes wrong? It is this site we are referencing.

Exactly, it was a soft opening, never opened to the general public. It looks like a shitty ride though so I don't care if he gets it.

In the rules though it states that soft openings could be grounds for it being valid. But like you said it doesn't look overly exciting so I would let him have it anyway.

I'll explain again. The ride soft openend and almost immidiatly after that some of the seats breaks and the ride goes out of commission for at least 7 months without any sign of it re-opening soon.
Now how several was Xcelerator's cable snap and how long was that ride out of the running? Also, Xcelarator was actually opened before it broke down.
BGS shouldn't have been open but somehow the faulty train made it past the inspection.

As for RCDB.com, it will be used as a reference, not a bible. Only if there is no other source of information, then rcdb.com will be used. In this case, it's almost common knowledge (amonst coasterfans) that BSG is still not operating.

Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.
