7 degrees

There is a show here in the states called "7 Degrees of..." They test the theory that if you know 7 people that you know everyone in the world. What they do is they have people try to find a famous person by asking 7 people they know. Ex.
You<Friend<Their Friend<Their Friend<Their Friend<Their Friend<Their Friend<Their Friend<Famous Person.

I think this theory is very true. I would love to do this on my own time and try to come in contact with some famous person or just everyone, but there has to be some flaw somewhere. What is your guys opinion on this theory?

Extremely likely, but if a group of 8 nerds got together, I think they could refute this.

Well, I think there is some truth to this, but it seems preposterous.

I mean, 6.6 billion people in the world, and only 8 people know them all? Maybe only famous people and friends and relatives, but not everyone.

7 people not 8...

Even so...wouldn't that make it even harder?

Not in my opinion since my friend knows a lot of people in the music business.

So how many ppl do you know? here's the math: x^6 = 10^9 , x = 1.4

so if you know more than 1.4 ppl it should work

No, since there are 6.6 billion, then it is:

x^6= 6.6(10^9), x =8.4

If you know at least 8.4 people it should work.
