Arizona Law Targeting Ethnic Studies

So this law basically forbids the teaching of ethnic studies but Tom Thorne, the one who has pushed the bill for years, emphasizes Mexican-American studies.

"State schools chief Tom Horne, who has pushed the bill for years, said he believes the Tucson school district's Mexican-American studies program teaches Latino students that they are oppressed by white people."

A bellief is not a fact. I've taken Mexican-American classes and no where was I taught or suggested that latino students were opressed by whites. Why not take action again the teacher instead and not a course as a whole? If the teacher is violating the guidelines of how to teach the class then act upon him/her and not the entire course. I've taken African American studies and a lot of the subject matter was about the opression of the white man on the blacks. Why don't we hear him or anyone else whining about that?

Texas is worse. They are removing Thomas Jefferson from all textbooks because he wasn't a christian and removing the fact that Mexicans died at the Alamo.
