Does anyone actually know anyone who has been to or is planning on visiting Dubai recently? I still haven't met anyone and I don't understand where all of this tourism is coming from.

I know what you mean, it better become a favorite destination to a ton of people. With all their developements they can only hope their economy doesn't get shot in the heart. I don't care what happens once they build the Al Burj.

I want to venture into this mall. Holy Shat!

It's mostly us lot, it's pretty cheap to fly there from here and all the rest of Europe. Not to mention how much money there is floating around that area anyway, with the arab business people and such. It's a very central location, it is right smack bang in the middle of the map in all fairness, so it's close to everyone... apart from you lot and the aussies.
