Btw, that was an AWESOME drum solo spacemountain! Not exactly a technical drum solo, but the props and show Tommy Lee put on were insane -- they built a freaking fireball for his drum set to ride on! XD

Not really a solo until halfway through, but Morgen ?????????gren is awesome so it doesn't matter.

i would have to agree HZKoasters on this one Neil Peart is one of the few drummers along with mike portnoy and joey jordison who can change time signatures and tempo as quickly and seamlessly as he does.

Not the best, I like a ton of music, Like The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather, Pixies, Early Queen, Foo Fighters, Queen's of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures, Radiohead, The Kills, and a ton other. But Muse is very talented, even though their earlier stuff is a lot better.

let me put it this way. i HATE rush . i put alot of thought into it before i posted this with the " h" word, but there isnt another word that fits.(i chose that over "rush sucks the sticky gooey poop from the asses that ever did anything good).
that said , that peart guy playing the drums is entertaining.. it is skillfull.. but to me in the same category as the guy i saw juggling chainsaws at the fair.
drums are hard to play well.. and judging by this thread even harder to play tastefuly.

Put Peart on a 4 piece with 2 cymbals and then see how "great" he is.

Well they're not my favorite, but the drummer is good. Theyre the only band i could think of who has a drummer that solos like that. The drummer from Incubus is also good. Who do you listen to?

If you are going to compare anyone to Neil Peart, you gotta compare him to Buddy Rich. Rich did way more on a single 5 pc kit than peart could ever do on his 360* combo electronic and acoustic kit with a bell tree.

Incubus' drummer is very talented, it really helps pull their sound together. He does some pretty creative stuff too in certain tracks. Like this:
