I've started on a new wooden coaster, based on the Metallica album Death Magnetic (don't worry, I'll release the Tiger Terror after I go to Safari Land on Saturday).

Since NL doesn't have timberliners, I photoshoped a picture of the car (first one, obviously):

how does it work? the first airtime hill is about the same height as the station... Or do I see a launch?

Surely that's just perspective? It just looks like it's the same height but I'm assuming it's actually a fair bit lower. Unless there really is a launch? In which case, I have no further interest in this ride. [lol]

I always love a little "pre-lift" action -- I might actually rate this when it gets released. :-)
Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all.

^^It must be a launch gouldy, the station is not banked down, indicating that it needs propulsion from the station, also there is a straight part after the station, which is not long enough to be a pause brake for a preride stop...

Ok, a launch is slightly different to tyres moving a car out of a station. I understand that for all intents and purposes tyres moving a train off is a launch, but moving a train off to 6mph is a bit different to rapidly accelerating the train to like 30mph or something.

AND anyway, looking at the picture, you can't be certain that the station isn't angled downwards anyway. That straight section might be angled down to the same angle as the station as a period of time where the train can pick up a little speed so there's a nice bit of air on the drop. I'd need more pictures to see what was actually going on obviously.

The strait section will be a transfer track.

oh for christ's sake, what the hell is with you man, always stepping in thinking there's some kind of tension that means you have to step in and be the saviour of the day. Seriously, what is your problem?

Do you really honestly think I would be saying "I think I win" in anything other than in joke?

[lol] they're fairly standard phrases though, no? And besides, as an "Atheist", am I not one of the people more likely to say something like that, what with all the "thou shalt not take the lord's name in vain" bullcrap?

They mean nothing to me other than a statement of annoyance, there is no genuine sentiment towards the words used in the phrase, as I would believe is the case for most people.

So what exactly makes it a Gravity Group woodie? Did you consider how they use forces or did you slap together any old crap, threw in a 90 degree turn, and then labeled it a GG?

No offense, Coasterkid, but Jonny Richey probably knows a little bit more about GG woodies than some other users here. So, asking him about the authenticity of his GG inspired woodie could seem a little insulting.
Oh, were you expecting something here?
