Out of nowhere, Disneyland has increased it's prices for 1 day, 1 park tickets to $96, from the old price of $92. While it is not a significant jump, it has been expected especially since Disney World in Florida raised its prices not too long ago as well. In addition, to the surprise of many Southern California residents, the Southern California Annual Passport no longer will be sold. This allowed locals to go the park on Sundays only but for the entire year for a much lower price. The only thing comparable to the Southern California Annual Passport is the Southern California Select Annual Passport, which allows use on all weekdays but not the weekends.
Another question is, why are doing this? The short answer, because they can. Disneyland is one of the most popular parks in the world and despite higher prices, the parks still reach max capacity. If the demand is there, and people are still willing to pay for the more expensive tickets, then why wouldn't Disney do it?
To make things simpler, here is a small rundown of the new prices.
Parking= $17, up $1 from $16
1 Day, 1 Park Ticket=$96, up $4 from $92.
1 Day, Park Hopper=$150, up $13 from $137
Deluxe Annual Passport= $519, up $20 from $499
Premium Annual Passport= $699, up $30 from $669

So what do you think, is this a smart move by Disney? Or is it a greedy move? Would you still go to Disney after these price hikes?

Not surprising. I think they have an overcrowding issue at Disneyland, which means they need to charger higher prices to discourage people from going or they will be swamped with people.

Even with the jump, I still think it'll be packed.
