Chang died, now I'm making Mantis since you can't make a 45 degree drop that is around 150ft tall exciting in the sim, it just doesn't work. Also I've "learned" a great deal dicking around with my Chang attempt to Mantis thus far is much better.

The Bing and Google aerial photography sources were not taken perpendicular to the ride and thus the distortion is making it appear that the half loop portion of the dive loop could slant in either direction (toward the lift/loop or toward the inclined loop/mcbr). Chang appears to tilt towards the lift, however Chang is actually very different than Mantis and contrary to popular belief they're not scaled clones of each other. Anyone have a picture that could tell me the proper direction to slant. I'm fairly certain it's toward the lift/loop however I don't want to mess this but as it's a stupid detail to miss.

See how Bizarro and Riddler slants in the above pictures?^ All B&M's seem to slant towards the twisty section of the dive loop but I need to make sure B&M didn't tweak mantis since it is confined into an area.

Also no pictures of Mantis progress for this site until trackwork is complete because otherwise I'll never finish. It's a curse for me. If I don't think you're retarded and I AIM you you can see it otherwise die. If your name is Jakizle you're an exception to that rule since I switched AIM names and lost yours so PM Jakizle so i can get yours again. You're one of like 3 good NL people on the site now the emos have been taking over.

On the POV it appears to slant away from the lift/loop but I'm not sure. Any slant it has is ever so slight it's quite hard to tell.

Judging by the fact that at the point where you're finishing the dive loop, the corkscrew track that you just rode before the half loop seems to go over slightly to the left of where you are near the bottom of the dive loop, so I'd think it's slanted away from the direction of where the lift/loop is. (In other words, you're going to the right as you ride through the half-loop portion of the dive loop.)

I'll have to pay attention next time I go back to the Point but that seems to be how its slanted.

Get someone to help w/ the 3ds's. Supports are ugly and result in unrealistic surroundings, and can only be done for basic scenery.

The track BANKS to the left after the dive loop, right before it rolls into the right hand turn. I wouldn't recommend recreating a roller coaster you haven't been on, or can't remember the ride to well.

I'm aware of the banking, it's just hard to tell which way it's slanting and it is at an angle that is not very photographically popular apparently.

Jakizl sent a picture where it doesn't appear to slant at all which concerns me greatly.

The video coasteragent99 posted (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfhEdeMqqIw) shows all the fluid bankings, and what direction the track goes. If you watch closely, you can also tell the first drop is not quite straight, or zero banked. Mantis is kind of a hard ride to recreate.

B&M seems to do that a lot; lots of subtle banking-around. Raptor's first drop banks a few degrees to the right as it goes down. I haven't noticed it as much on Mantis, but there's definitely a lot of subtle fluid bankings nonetheless.

Mantis' seems to be more that the heartline is so bulbous, but it does squiggle a tad.

I'm about 97% sure that the looping part of the dive loop slants away from the loop (towards the corkscrew area). I was just there yesterday and made a point of mentioning it to my non-coaster-savvy cousin. I don't actually have any pictures of it, though [V]

It seems that B&M dive loops are titled away from the point of entry.
http://www.rcdb.com/m/94.htm?p=5138

So that would mean Mantis' dive loop would be slanted towards AWAY from the loop/lift part.

^Not every ride is the same dude. I have a pic looking straight on Mantis' half loop of the dive loop and it does NOT tilt towards the entry.

also, I think you have you mantis layout backwards, hyper. If kumba's is shaped the same as mantis', then mantis's leans away from the loop.

^woops, I made a typo, the dive loops is indeed alanted away from the entry, like basically every B&M dive loop I could find a decent pic of.

I'm wondering if the heartline kickout makes it appear to be straight when it really isn't.
