I just don't get it!

I need someone to tell me how to make custom cartextures, because I couldn't understand digital-eXperiment. I just created a wooden coaster Boilermaker Express, and I need to create a custom cartexture for it. Also, I need 3D ride sign/logos to put on the lift hill. I desperately need your guys' help. Thanks in advance.

What program are you using fist of all, but i am not goot at some 3d's object.

for the cartextures, any program with layers helps, such as photoshop, paint shop pro, coral draw...
