I need help.

I've been working on a 165 MPH launched coaster, but I can't fit the layout into NL's area.

However, if I turn off improved friction, I can get a safe layout that will fit.

So, should I:

(a) somehow hack NL to make the area bigger (if so, how)
(b) turn off improved friction
(c) wait for NL2 to come out

(d) make a new layout, or just up the forces a little bit. 165 mph is in itself totally unrealistic, so having a 5G turn held for 4 seconds shouldn't really hurt the ratings much, since (I hope) it will have already been labeled as fantasy. Anyone worth listening to will understand.

Sometimes you can rotate the whole track to get it to fit, if the layout is in a certain shape that isn't sitting well with NL's working area.

I hope NL2 has at least 9 times the working area of NL1, or at least have a working area as large as how far the NL1's background trees extend to with a 2000ft or higher height limit (for those unusual coasters built off the tops of skyscrapers; think that one park in Vegas but on a larger scale.)

@boneplaya: http://www.rcdb.com/4485.htm

165 MPH is only 10.7% faster than 149 MPH. I would consider 10% faster than the record to be realistic. Somehow, I think you would have called 150 MPH a fantasy coaster before Formula Rossa was announced. Next time, don't flame.

@coasteragent99: I wish I could, but even the layout that works with improved friction turned off is a tight fit. I couldn't get the improved friction one to fit into NL's area.

Incidentally, for NL2, I think you should just be able to set the area size, especially since NL2 is supposed to allow multiple coasters. Imagine trying to recreate Cedar Point in the existing area [lol]

Try a curved launch. That could save a lot of space and add thrill...

Sorry that came across wrong, man, I didn't mean it to be a flame. It was more of me saying that you can take a little liberty with the realism here. Like, maybe 10.7% liberty [;)]

Launch space isn't the problem. It's just that 2 flat turns at that speed, plus a nice airtime hill transition, are slightly too big for NL's area.

I have the launch at 3.2 Gs anyway, so it doesn't take up much space.

@boneplaya: It's alright, I can understand the idea of taking liberties with realism. However, I prefer to design coasters which could be built IRL... they'd just be really expensive :P
