Newbie, help lol

Ok so i finally got NL and have been experimenting with it. My biggest question right now is how to make straight track that gets elevated. Mostly like on lift hills. I get the angle on want and then when i add a vertex, it levels out. How do add a vertex and make it straight for a lift hill???

Just select that piece of track and use the "make straith" option.

Or select it and use the shortcut for 'make straight': Press 'i'
