Taking Drop Towers to a Whole New Level UPDATE!!!!

After seeing a few Vekoma Flyer drop towers I knew that I wanted to build one, But I also knew that mine had to be taken to a whole new level. Enter this thing:


I got the idea for the structure from radio towers, as they were simple yet extremely sturdy. I also thought it looked pretty good on a ride.


Pretty much you strap yourself in and are launched up a 490 foot tower at speeds reaching 95 MPH. The launch pulls 3 Gs, but since they are vertical I figured it was fine.


At the top you enter a holding brake, which stops you while the seats tip straight down, looking at the ground.


You then face five seconds of free fall, during which time the seats return to the upright position, adding in a feeling of disorientation.


This is the point6 where the car hits the brakes at a speed of 101 MPH, into a bone-crushing stop of 4.5 gs (I believe there are drop towers in existence which come near this statistic. I remember at least one reaching 4.3 gs)

So yeah, this thing is f*cking extreme... more updates to come...

maybe you should actually paint it like a radio tower....looks interesting though...

Some go up to 5G decel (I may have even seen 5.5...not sure), but you have to take into account that your speed is much higher, so your deceleration will have to be held longer. Keep that in mind.

i think i would rather see more or cool5's coasters than more of your "prototype" things, prototype is basically code for half arsed

Don't worry, I will not name this one Prototype.

I have redone the paint scheme to match a radio tower I see every day on my commute to school. I have also reduced the deceleration on the brakes to 4 Gs.

Should you use the L beam instead?

Yes.

Make the cables black and the most of the tower too,make only the highest parts red with.I think that would look more Radio-towerish

Not the right type of radio tower but this paint scheme shows up quite frequently on them.

Thats it; make the car texture a cow.

Make a .env with the support size for the cables being really small so they look more realistic.
