Intimidator Branding to Be Removed?

Well... This is not very good news but all signs may be pointing to the removal of the Intmidator branding at Kings Dominion and Carowinds. It has been 5 years since both rides opened and its possible that the contract was only good until the end of 2015. Here's the Facebook post that talked about it first.... I'm assuming we will hear more about this as the year gets closer to an end.

I'd assume that both Intimidator and Intimidator 305 will probably still have racing related names/theming so that they won't have to do a massive retheme of the plazas for those rides.

Maybe they are going to RMC both Intimidators.

In all seriousness. I think renaming it I305 would actually be good. Everyone would still know what it is and a huge confusion wouldn't erupt from it.

Im actually surprised. At first I didn't like the name a bit, but it grew on me, and I got so used to saying I305. I wonder if they will keep the 305 part of the name? They will keep the racing theme for sure though.

I hope they name it Giga Coaster 1 so people can say "Giga Coaster 1 looks too intense for me" and "Just looking at Giga Coaster 1 makes me feel sick"

I think this is a perfect opportunity to preserve the name thunder road. As KI brought back the Bat name, I don't see any reason why Carrowinds cannot do the same. Thunder Road can be a racing inspired name too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunder_Road

I still think "Centurion" has something to do with this. When I did the media report last fall for FURY, they had a T-shirt with Centurion Displayed in a shop window.

That was a joke I believe. Everyone thought that Centurion would be the name so they started teasing with that. They even had the original Fury webpage with the Centurion logo.

They couldn't secure the trademark for "Centurion" however.

^ He was doing it in date order. MF was first, Steel Dragon was 2nd, and I305 was 3rd.
