AHG Question

I tried to heartline my new coaster, but it gets about 20% done, then it says error. I checked the speed, it is an open track, etc., but it won't work. Any thoughts?

Keep bumping up the speed settings until you don't get the error.

does that really matter to what i set the speed to?

example. if i put enterance speed at 40 instead of 30, will my track be improperly heartlined? or does it not matter if you set the speeed a little fast?

good question...wish I had an answer for it. I would think that the speed setting would be very important for how it calculates the heartline, but for some reason, the speed setting that you get from the sim doesn't always work when you try to use the AHG.

Well, banking will change of course. The more speed the higher you need to bank.
Upping the speed by .5 to 1 wouldn't do much harm though. Even higher values can be ok when the filter is high enough.

The error can have to causes:
1) train doesn't make it through the track (up the speed some as mentioned before)
2) There's a vertical part of track. AHG won't work on any vertical tracks.

I don't know how it worked, but just to see what the AHG would do I once ran a perfectly vertical segment of track through that was banked and the spine color of it was set to black, and it worked just fine....it just didn't bank or heartline the track at all (which was what I was expecting anyways).
