It depends how you look at it. If all parks charged PPR, I bet alot of people wouldn't visit parks and pay to ride as much as it would get REALLY expensive. So in the end, they could lose money.
In my opinion, paying once to get into the park with all rides included in that fee is the best option for both the park and the guest. Guests don't have to worry about running out of tickets or having to bring a big wad of cash and emptying their pockets just to ride a few rides.
Then again, the option is nice for people who DONT ride rides. Some parks offer a smaller fee for non-riders but only in parks where they do PPR and they monitor it.

the best way is like blackpool pleasure beach and pleasureland southport. they are pay per ride parks, tickets are around 50p per ticket and most rides are 2-4 tickets,(apart from the big one 9TICKETS) but they do also sell wristbands which are valid on all rides all day. it's great fo the perants who are just there for the kidds and buy them a band each and just a coupple of tickets for them selves and for us thrill junkies who just want just do as much as possible. The parks have always been very profitable and both just keep on building more and more rides, but i dont see how blackpool do it cause they have nowhere to build more rides and they cannot knock down old ones because mostly all of them are protected by a historic landmark certifiate.
i dont like blackpool's prices:
wristbands-?????????30
ride tickets-?????????1(minimum of 4)
personally i think its a rip off when you can goto alton towers for ?????????28 and i think the rides are better at alton towers and the state of the park is way better! but have u realized all the parks that can afford B&M's(a good park has got to have at least one! lol) are all owned by big companies so my advice to any theme park starting out is to have free enterance but if people whant to ride they can buy a ride ticket or a wristband(which would be a better deal) and get a good investor so u can buy a B&M! lol
Depends on crowds. I've had days at big parks where I would have been better off paying, say, $5 a pop for rides. However,a POP is usually a better deal.
I think i depens on how many rides you take that day:
$2 per ride, you 5 coaster 3 times: $30 total,
so if the entry price is over 30 i'd prefer the ride pay,
but crows are unpredictable, you don't know when a park is busy and you ride my coasters or if it's crowded and you must wait 1.5 hour or more
ppr, is like town fairs. They will cost a handfull of money. So after a visit you easily have lost $40-50 just to ride some cool rides.
But if you just pay once for the entrance of the area it would be much better and cheaper. Like $30 and you can ride unlimited. So i'd think people like playing the entrance once way better then PPR. With PPR you just get people that only will watch, people don't buy then...
Drayton manor has a good system (shame its hardly the best park) They have the same idea as BPB, with the wristbands and tickets. That is a good system as it allows people like my aunt, who wont ride anything, to "supervise" my cousin if she so wishes, without it costing a lot.
