After reviewing the Kinga Ka video which can be found at the link below, I noticed pumping in the final turn and at the bottom of the main hill. This is just a virtual ride and is obviously not the real product, however you would think the video would portray an accurate representation of the ride. What do you think?

I believe its made by Badnitrus, and his work isnt known to be THAT accurate. Ride his Silver Bullet video, or even any of his new ones. They arent that great in reality.

But for the general public, they could care less.

Ummmmmm ... you took a virtual ride (simulation) of a coaster that has not been built yet and you are complaining about pumping? Geeeeesh man, you are tooooooo picky! [lol]

On a project this big (or any other for that matter) Intamin would not make an amatuer mistake like that.

Based on the video, I'd say that's just an encoding glitch (Windows Media encoding isn't the best for lots of motion like that, and Six Flags is really stingy on using webspace for high quality videos)

besides, its just a video used as a demonstration, they could care less about pumping. He also did hydra's video (Dorney and Knott's really like him, apparantly) and that, too has pumps and bumps.

Lol, ok just wanted to make sure, because that would be dissapointing to see an Intamin with pumping, even though the company is full of mere perfectionists. On the other hand, there is a first for everything. [:p] That final curve is horrible in terms of pumping though, even though as suggested it wont be on the real ride.

V, to switch seats.

B&M's have pumping. Pumping is not a 100% bad thing, you guys gotta understand that. Same with banking thats always congruent. Check a backseat POV of California Screamin (Intamin design) it wobbles in the corners, not because of the trains, but because the helicies in the track require it.

Theres alot of unnessicary "rules" that we have formed based on some loose observations.

i agree, loosen up people! pumping and pain and red g's are FUN! lol, j/k.

but i do agree that we have made up some foolish rating and designing rules here. if ya look, b&m rides pump and jerk all over the place.

Not all over the place, nor do they really jerk. But I believe the Hyper have pumping at the base of the hills for G purposes. I havent totally clarified this but I have read some claims of it.

Yes coaster ... I know ... normally pumping is best detected from a seat in the rear versus the front seat ... hence why I would be changing cars.

Read your second to last post coaster, then read mine that followed. Don't get it? Read it again. Eventually you will see why I mentioned I was trying to check for pumping by changing cars not seats ...

No doubt, Dirk.

B&M's don't have pumping on thier over-banked, wrap around turns though, man, you should check out Talon pov, its smooth, and pumpless. Either that, or its just Talon.

SO true!

......why exactly do we care about an instance or 2 of barely noticeable pumping on an animated preview video? are people REALLY that picky?

I am not totally sure, but as Real stated, B&M only uses pumping where is it needed, as to avoid unkind G's. Perhaps Talon does not require this technique.
