Haha, that's nice! I like all of the lights and fog effects as well as the speed.

Have you ever been on one of the Breakdances that have the 6 satellites instead of 4? Like the Kinzler BD? They look incredible!

And that definately was a 'pwnd' at the end. lol

Ha! That's a cool little Breakdance! Those Breakdance 4 models are so odd looking with no platform or anything. BTW, here's a video with a few people standing up on a Breakdance that I found. You can see them whip around every so often. lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2TX9Ja3N-w&feature=related

The new trains will make a difference because there is nothing to hit your head against. Great Nor'Easter, an SLC, at Morey's Piers has similar restraints. They're like the restraints on B&M flyers with the lapbar and rubber vest type thing. In any case, I always thought that Boomerangs were pretty ...

Yeah, I always check out the videos of them on youtube. I'll definately make a trip over to Europe sometime and go to one of the big funfairs.

Don't they have ones over there where riders are allowed to stand up?

Heh, a 'normal' Breakdance ride in the US is about half as fast as this one.

Astroland's Breakdance POV

An on-ride of the Huss Breakdance that was at Astroland Amusement Park in Coney Island, NY. The park closed on 9/7/08 and as far as everyone knows, it's for good. Unlike most US parks, Astroland never held back in running their Breakdance. I will sure miss this ride...if only I had the $300,000 to b...

It sucks that Laser is going, it was a nice little coaster. According to someone at another forum, it looks like it's going to the European funfair circuit.

I guess I ate something bad either the night before going to Six Flags Great Adventure or the day of at breakfast. After a little while at the park I started to feel nauseous, and not a motion sickness nausous. I had to step out of line for Nitro (would have been my first ride on it ever) and sit do...

Nice video with some neat rides! I remember a fair by me having the Skywalker (aka. Tango) once, but at the time I was too chicken to ride it. Then a year or so later the truck hauling the ride got into an accident and destroyed the ride.

Guess I should have ridden it while I could!

I'll go with the first drop on Manhattan Express at New York, New York Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The coaster tops out at 203 feet, yet the first drop must be about 100 feet, isn't steep, and goes right into a straight portion of track that's not even close to the ground. And it's a Togo, so you...

Favorite tracked ride...well I'm pretty impartial to the "Spook House" at Keansburg Amusement Park in NJ. It's one of the oldest Pretzel Co. darkrides still standing. It's not very scary but it's cool! Here's a page on it: http://www.laffinthedark.com/articles/keansburgh/spookhouse2.htm

Originally posted by Adrenaguy i never thought about that, i thought that maybe you could use sort of water blasters to push you further round the loop, and a sort of failsafe trapdoor device just in case it fails, foolproof! The Action Park slide actually had a trap door just for that situation. I...

Arrow built the first successful looping coaster. Sure, the Flip Flap in Coney Island inverted riders in the 1900s but it also pushed 12Gs and gave riders whiplash!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the site. Now, even though the companies making these looping slides have much more engineering sense than whatever company built the abomination at Action Park; I still have to wonder how well it'll turn out. As for water going around the loop; how about just removing the...

Scions and new Hummers are my pick. I can't stand Scions especially, their such a "look at me, I'm trendy" car. Newer Hummers take up too much space and look like crap. The old ones on the other hand were even bigger but looked awesome I thought. I think I'll deviate a bit and add in a car element t...

This is a little weird; it's an abandoned road grid in southern New Jersey. Lost funding for a housing complex maybe?

Ah yes, Action Park. I know it well enough to have written a some 6 page article on it at my site! I remember the looping slide vividly. I never went on it, as it was never open and I was too young, but what you see in the pics is what it was. No trick to filter water out for the loop, no special en...

These tests (ACT and SAT) are ridiculous. It seems like high schools base their curriculum around these tests when there are more important things than that crap. I had to take the SATs, which are the preferred test in this area, and needless to say I didn't do all that well. I didn't do all that we...

I probably should have linked this photo of the new park map: http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/3237/picture3lz3.png There's a smoking icon where FF used to be! Now it really is a big smoking area. lol BTW, I'm looking a...

I always handbuild my coasters; I just don't like using programs like AHG to refine my builds. I always want that feeling of a runaway freight train barreling down the tracks rather than a smooth, graceful style that many tooled coasters have.

You know, after listening to Sensemaya, I think people might say the same thing about that piece. I think it's an interesting piece but a bit hard to listen to; just like most off time signature songs.

The Locust, isn't that the band that wants to "destroy all music" or something like that? BTW, on the topic of off time signatures and complex playing; check out Dillinger Escape Plan or PsyOpus. DEP's older stuff was like constant guitar scales and horrifyingly fast pick sweeps/finger tap solos alo...
