So in June Slagharen, a park in the Netherlands announced that their Schwarzkopf Looping Star which opened in 1979 would unfortunately be closing in October to make way for a much bigger coaster.

Here's a video of the Looping Star:

The park have released the name and logo of the ride and also a small teaser. It looks like it will have a western theme.

Could this be the Takabisha clone that was spotted being manufactured at the Gerstlauer plant a couple weeks ago?

I struggle to understand why they'd clone Takashiba, but oh well lol at least it'll be somewhat unique since the other one is in Asia.

Thanks Matt!

If it does end up being a Takabisha clone hopefully it has the lap bar trains as I've heard Takabisha has gotten a bit rough over the years, but that could just be due to Fuji Q's track record with maintenance and operations lol.

Lapbars would be better. I just always found Takashiba a bit odd since it kills its own speed quickly....twice.

Takabisha could have been an Eurofighter with the most inversions! ;)

Today the layout of the coaster was revealed:

It feels a bit short but I'm sure it will be a fun new ride. :)

^ Introducing like a Maverick promo which is still cool, and the ride is, whoa, looking epic! Here comes another "Dragon Legend!" I also wish Thunderloop could find its home. Happiness to both rides.

Thanks for the awesome news! :D

Can't tell if I like this or not. I like the look of those compact mini triple launch coasters for fair grounds-
I don't know if I like the idea of them having regular layouts or not.

So much for it being a Takashiba clone. Looks like a really interesting layout though and it should have decent air.

Looks really cool idea. The middle section looks a little labored from the animation but hopefully the airtime hill packs a punch. For a small park the limited capacity won't have too much of an impact although I imagine it's a little frustrating with only 1 train running. I wonder if bigger parks would consider a similar concept with a transfer table style station.

I actually hope they have the possibility on just relaunching it immediately for a 2nd lap on their dead quiet days. Otherwise the ride is quite short.

Ride time seems to be over 50 seconds so it's not as short as you think. :)

I'm getting some kind of mine cart vibe with those trains. Looking good. Now all I'm hoping for is that those lights actually will function in the evenings.

Wow really happening! I'm sad about the demise of a "classic" looper, though. :) /
