We here at WWS are thinking about offering another way for you to help support WWS. This would only regard those users who have websites currently hosted at a paid hosting company. We are being offered a great deal with our current hosting company, which we are trying to get some feedback from our users. They would offer to host any of our members sites and give WWS a % of the profit from the site which could be used for coding new items into the site for upgrades, free hosting for WWS, and maybe some extra cash depending on how many people would be willing to go with this deal. Please give your feedback on this issue and give us ideas of your current hosting.

The host we use is http://www.eznetideas.com

by the way, redbrad0 is the brains behind this operation. We need about $2,000 to get this whole set up, we have part of it already so need another chunk to fully complete this. If enough people are interested, we can get this et up rather quickly. Please give us your opinions on this.
Thank you
Oscar

Well for 35 gigs a month if you even use half of that then you have one of the top sites. Most websites use about 5 gigs a month on a good month. Sites that get as much traffic such as this one use about 20 gigs a month.

One thing this will not be is the $5 a month hosting. We get the quality server with top of the line software and network connection. In return this means your site is always running at top speed and no down time which means its not a cheap hosting. If you want 35 gigs a month it would run around $35 a month.

Yeah, a small website won't use much bandwidth. WWS uses like 25 - 30 gigs? My website and polarisfiles.com is using on average about 60 gb a month. and that's a medium amount of traffic, about a million page views a month, give or take a few.

Alot of hosting company will offer you 20 gigs of bandwidth because on avg most people use 5 gigs or less. So the higher traffic sites make avg out everything to where they still make money.

yeah this site uses about 25-30 gigs a month, of course it is highly optimized code as well. It depends much on your code on how you use, with poor codig cough before redbrad0 cough came along we peaked around 60 gigs a month... and we get millions of hits a month as well. You can see our active users record as well at 171 users online at once. Not many servers can handle that many for one site but this is a good server with good hardware and software to make it possible. But if you do use 35 gigs a month, it will cost you $35 a month and that means running almost double the traffic of my website.

WOW this is all confusing but ummm... i think it's a great idea. Is this part of "the evolution begins 1.1.04". If it is I'd help with whatever i can do.

it is not part of the evolution, however it is something that WILL be implement to the site. We have received a couple of prospective e-mails so I can see this as happening soon, wont or can't say how soon though, the evolution is something different which I am really far behind on it. Good thing my last final is tomorrow so I will have more time to work on it.

we need to get a hosting page done, with different payment methods other than just credit cards, should allow checks, paypal and stuff. Mind doing the whole hosting forms and stuff for me Brad? You have the prices anyway.
