Surround sucks.

This is actually a pretty old find but many members might not have heard this recording before. Play the Virtual haircut sample with a simple 2 channel headphone at a reasonable volume. Close your eyes and listen.

Make sure you're wearing headphones due to the recording method used. If you have a Dipole stereo system "which i doubt" use that. Not even a Dolby HD 7.1 system will give this effect! In my personal opinion all surround systems, movie producers and music artists can learn allot with the use of Binaural recording.
