Hey now I'm sure everyone has a restraint that they really hate.

Here is a list of the worst in my opinion

Over the sholuder [B)]

The worst restraints EVER are on the older Intamin Space Shuttles. They are rock solid with no padding, the OSTR's are VERY heavy and dig into your ribs/chest and the lap bar squishes everything!

At least with the Arrow/Vekoma OSTR's you can make them stay off your chest and they have a bit of padding.
The only bad thing about the Intamin T-Bars are the shinbars on the S:ROS's and the seatbelts.

the lap bars on zippers by far the most pain i have evr experiance, they sit u in a steel cage and calmd you down with the tightest metal bar and havg u upside down whils theyre loading the other cars. if any1 has experiaced this please explain more so maybe we can get them shut down TO HELL WITH THE ZIPPER

and according to the restraints on iron brue you never touch them and you never head bang on them, unless u r using it as an example.

Are you nuts?

The zipper does not hurt a bit.

It much more like a lazyboy than a mouse trap like you are describing ti.

The only restraint i'd kinda hate was the one on an intamin spillwater, the ride at mirabilandia with that huge wave. it had a huge pillow hidden in the restraints, first i thought that the hit wouldn't be that hard but still the hit was extreme hard. Even with that pillow it was ouch...

I agree with FN. It's funny to stand by one of these and hear everyone scream as they put the lap bars on and then take them off at the end. The OTSR's are just as bad too, as the dig in further and further each time the ride goes around.

The OTSRs for example on Ninja at SFOG are what I was referring to .... those things are like solid plastic, NO PADDING, and for someone small in stature, well, you are in pain.

yes i definately agree with FN on this one, i usually dont mind any restraint types, but on looping starship at sfog, holy crap it hurts so bad, the ride op is like "put youre fists on youre knees" and the lap bars come down and break youre wrists, haha.

Arrow's over the shoulder restraints. Especially on mega loopers. Those things equal head banging to the max. I didn't mind the over the shoulder restraints on Silver Bullet. I though it might headbang so I tested by banging against the restraints. I never banged at all.

I've only been to CP so the worst restraints I've had are the ones on the corkscrew. They just won't let your arms up...

The best ones are either MF's or TTD's (they're both pretty much the same anyways) One of my friends who has a fear of heights loves the otsr's, the lap bars scare him too much. [lol]

I was very scared of lap bars when I went on my first coaster with them.

Haha, my mom's always scared of lap bars too, she wouldn't go on Millenium Force because she thought she might fall out.

I have to agree with coasteragent99 about the corkscrew- I am too tall, I could fit about 4 arms in between me and the Over head, I am not small.

My worst restraint feeling is Texas Twister at Geauga Lake- On top of that the hup ind the seat is in a VERY wrong spot!

The log ride at cedar point is a painful expirence. Someone in front of you sitting on your balls, and someone behind you stick their feet into you. People really aren't good restraints.

Worst restraints?? Hmm i would have to say the restraints on Terror Rack which is an extremely old topspin by Far fabbri.

The terror rack is at a small park near me, called Pleasure island cleethorpes, and i must say its the most fearsome topspin i have ridden, or seen. I have a video clip of its cycle but have nowhere to upload it. Lets just say in one part, the seats are at the bottom near the station, then the whole car swings right over upside down and stops upside down. Then the arms take you right up to the top still hanging upside down and then right back down to the bottom again, before flipping you over a few times. It hangs you upside down for so long with these crappy little restraints that dont fit anyone. They are them shared restraints, you know, the ones where you have like a tiny OTSR to yourself which is rock hard and doesnt fit, and then just a metal bar enclosing five of you together. its so uncomfoartable, and instead of being too tight, its far too loose. Yes i like loose restraints sometimes, but on this i didnt, it was too far, especially for the type of ride. LOL.

Best restraints are those on air. They are so comfy and for the type of ride style it suits it so much. I havent had much experience with many lap bars so cant really say.
