I'm kinda mad because I'm going to visit a month later to ride it. D;

Having just come back from Carowinds, the whispers in the wind are quite audible. After a nice chat with seasoned ride op Johnny, I am hopeful that come August we won't be disappointed with the 2016 announcement. That being said, I found Thunder Road to be better than Hurler

This is very weird. Didn't they just throw a lot of money into refurbishing most of the ride? That kinda sucks. I hate to see good rides go in the name of expansion........

But yeah, if it does get RMC-ed, it would be surprising because I would picture the Point getting it first in the Cedar Fair parks. But maybe a water park expansion in 2016? That would be major for a water park to use all that space, but that would be a waste of a decent coaster.

Remember, a 'good ride' by sight might not be a 'good ride' operationally, mechanically or structurally. And refurbishing (some retracking/woodwork) may be a requirement but state inspectors to get it to operate.

Today is the last day for Thunder Road . I never rode it, but it looks like it was a fun ride. It's too bad it has to go, but I understand the reasons for it.
