I have heard rumors of Dinosars Alive leaving the park in coming years. That would make a perfect area for an entrance coaster to go. Otherwise Im sure it will go in the back with the new land expantion.

It would be neat if they got rid of Dinosaurs Alive and put a winger or mega/giga in that spot. They could have it fly over the entrance and have a turnaround where the enterprise currently resides. Wild Thing's gigantic turnaround is kind of in the way lol. I feel like the land in the back is going to be used for further waterpark expansion, but who knows.

It is in Minnesota. The climate makes that state almost worse than Nebraska. I don't know why they even bothered with a waterpark. I don't know where the park can expand to unless they want to keep pushing the park west towards Excalibur and just have the waterpark be this awkward tumor in the middle of everything.

Valleyfair owns a lot of land north and west of the park. The problem is that most of that land is in the flood plain.

The waterpark can be enjoyed for 4 full months when the weather is between 70-90. I don't know why you keep bringing that up lol. People here love waterparks. They are all over the place. And that's not really an acceptable response to what Paradox said; they have no issue building rides because of the climate whatsoever, as long as they avoid the flood zones.

Heck, they even build them IN the flood zones

They do have a 300 foot height cap though, so no Giga coasters.

I believe the height limit only applies to the central area of the park (Power Tower, Wild Thing). Theoretically, they could build a giga coaster at the west end of the park, but I unfortunately can't see Cedar Fair spending that much money on anything at VF.

The height cap is a municipal agreement, and I believe it was argued to 300 feet. With that reasoning, yes, it can be changed. Unfortunately, I agree with VF15. There won't be enough pressure to achieve beyond the current height. But close to or equal to a 300 foot height? Maybe.

Either way, a 250+ foot roller coaster can break plenty of generic and boring records, which we know Cedar Fair loves to do. But we don't need a huge height-breaker here. We need anything. Granted, we can basically bet that whatever it is will be a B&M and that it will go upside-down (based on the park's needs). An inversion height-breaker would be cool, though.

Most custom launched coasters are not affected by the max height limit. ;)

"500" perhaps by the end of this year.

High Roller's trains are getting seat dividers and individual lap bars :(. It's a shame that the buzz bars have to go, but I understand it from the safety perspective.

There is no extra safety.... at all. Seriously if anything is different you just more likely to crack a rib on something now then before.

Nooooo. That's kind of upsetting. The two person bench and one-setting restraint make that ride really fun. Small changes like that can make a ride much less likable.

Does it have enough air to warrant an individual restraint?

It has considerable airtime, especially in the back.

This is the 2nd Cedar Fair thread that I saw something about the departure of Dinosaurs Alive? Does anyone actually know if/when this is happening?
What are these for?

Is it just me or High Roller's train looks a tad smaller compared to other ones! Deceiving my eyes?

The contract for the Dinos at multiple parks (I KNOW KI is one, VF might be another) is through at the end of this season. Opens up some land for expansion and muliple parks ;)

I heard somewhere that the contract for Valleyfair's dinos runs until 2018 or 2019, so I don't think they'll be leaving just yet.

I hope Dorney's is one of those, the place needs something new almost as much as Valleyfair, and that land is pretty much the only open spot.
What are these for?
